Love and Other Lies

~Dimitri~

She fell asleep with a smile on her beautiful face. I couldn't do anything but stare at her face. The pain I saw when I found her, the peaceful look on her face when she passed out. I couldn't let her go. She couldn't leave me. I got up slowly making sure she wouldn't wake up. I have a surprise for her tonight. I grabbed my clothes and the bag of supplies I would need heading downstairs, I don't think she noticed that I brought her to my house.... They were still cleaning up the blood in her house.... I didn't want her to see that.

"Are you getting ready?" Jake asked through the door.

"Yea, I will be ready soon, will you put the hints out?" I asked getting nervous about just how close it was.

"sure, just hurry she might wake up soon" He said, his footsteps retreating. I got out of the bathroom and set the table, my pulse starting to rise more and more.

~Anna Marie~

I woke up and felt colder than I was earlier, he must have had to go to the bathroom or something. I started to get up and felt a sharp pain go through my wrists. I guess I have to be a little more careful. I spotted a brightly colored box sitting on my chair and went to discover what it was.

'open me' The box said. I opened it to another note on tissue paper. 'put me on' I unwrapped it and saw the most beautiful gown I have ever seen. It was red with black lace over it, a small bit of fabric accenting the bust, coming up the side of the bust line to form straps, criss-crossing on the back a bit of lace on the bust and on the back where it meets the middle of my back. I put it on and smiled, it was perfect... except for my bandages, it ruined it all. And why am I in a gown?

I saw an object on the floor as I exited... wait, this isn't my house... this is.. Dimitri's? The object was colorful and had alot of dots on it, I picked it up, it was a small arrow pointing towards his stairs. I slowly walked and saw another arrow, this one striped, I walked down the stairs and saw a sparkly one, I picked it up and right before I reached the kitchen I saw a heart with an arrow drawn on it pointing towards the kitchen, I smiled and walked in, the lights were dim and the candles lit. Tears sprang to my eyes.

I could hear her rustling around upstairs, my nerves peaking as I heard the stairs creek with her careful steps. I lit the candles and waited by the chair facing the entry way. I saw her walk in and tear up, a small gasp leaving her lips.

~Anna Marie~

"This is amazing" I whispered. I walked over to him and he brought his lips down to meet mine. The flowers in the center of the table looked amazing. He pulled out my chair and sat across from me, a second later a plate was set in front of me. I looked over to see my brother Jake smiling at me. I smiled and rolled my eyes, he was wearing an apron.

"Thank you" I said shaking my head in awe.

"vous êtes les bienvenus belle." He said wiggling his eyebrows

"Vous savez que je déteste surprises ..." I said putting a smile on so Dimitri wouldn't get what I was saying.

"Vous allez adorer celui-ci, croyez-moi." He replied swiftly exiting the room. Dimitri just looked at me lost in the conversation.

"It was nothing my love" I smiled sweetly at him. I went back to looking at the flowers. His smile getting bigger as I did. They were beautiful. I looked down and started to eat, the smile faded from his face a bit, but it never left completely.

"Anna, I love you, I just wanted to tell you that" He said looking me in the eyes.

"I love you too Dimitri" I smiled. My eyes drifted back towards the flowers, I saw something odd in the vase, I grabbed the neck of the vase and turned it towards me to get a better look. As soon as I saw it my breath hitched, my breathing picked up and tears engulfed my face.

"Anna, I don't want to ever lose you, or almost lose you again. It was the scariest and worst thing I could imagine." He said standing up and grabbing the vase, he quickly turned around and dumped out the water and flowers, grabbing the small ring and turning back to me. He grabbed a rose and got on one knee.

"Dimitri" I whispered.

"Anna-Marie Kay Murray, will you marry me?" He asked holding up the flower, I carefully grasped it and set it on the table, not able to reply, he just looked into my eyes.

"yes" I whispered, he gently took my hand, sliding the ring onto my finger. I got up and he followed, he picked me up into a hug and spun me.

"I love you so much, you don't even know" He said setting me down and kissing me. I heard a throat clear from the doorway and looked over to see both our families looking at us, Jake was the first to speak.

"So... this means I will have six brothers?" The smile getting bigger, everyone pushed into the room.

"looks like it big bro" I said wrapping him in a hug, everyone joined in and soon enough everyone was crying and laughing.

"looks like we are planning a wedding" Dimitri's mom said grabbing the rest of the girls in the room and whisking them off to apparently start planning.

"somebody's excited" I commented. I heard a chuckle from Dimitri

"you don't even know the half of it" He smiled wrapping me in another hug. How could I even think of leaving him, he's perfect.
