"who the hell did he think he was?" Anna said talking to her friends later. but secretly she was intrigued. not like she will let anyone know that.
"some new kid jerk." Her friend said trying to comfort her
"fuck that, some jerk who wanted to embarrass me. I said getting madder and madder just by talking about it.
"um, yea.. why don't you just read your book and not look up or around for the next forty-five minutes..." Her friend said opening her book and waiting for the outburst. Anna looked up and locked eyes with the new kid... what did he say his name was... Dimitri?
"goddammit." I muttered looking down at my book.
"sorry" She said giving her a sympathetic look and hurrying to her seat. He just stood there waiting for the teacher to tell him where to go. There were two seats in the class room that were empty. The one next to her and one in the far back of the class. She was hoping the teacher would be telepathic today and sit him in the back.
"good morning class. this is our new student Dimitri, Dimitri, you can sit over there by Miss. Anna Marie.. Anna Marie.. be nice.. no biting." He smiled ushering Dimitri to the spot right next to her.
"hey, i might like it" He smiled. I couldn't help but roll my eyes and raise my eyebrows toward Mr. Clem. who sent me a sympathetic look and a glare at the new kid.
"be good Mr. Dimitri.. you know your situation and i will not tolerate any crap from you." He said turning to his computer. Dimitri's eyes got wider for a few seconds then gained some humor. The thing about Pendleton teachers is, they will tell you how it is and you better listen, unless you were a well liked student in their class and you could talk back.. but if not you better watch your mouth.
"noted sir." Dimitri replied grabbing his back pack and grabbing his binder, he turned to me. "hey, do you have a pencil i can borrow?" He asked, i smiled and handed him my crappiest pencil that only worked half of the time. "thanks" He said, the pencil working perfectly for him. damn. I couldn't help but stare at him for most of the class period. but of course secretly stare, not openly gawk, i thought.
"Anna Marie, can you tell me what is soooo interesting about the side of Mr. Dimitri's face?" Clem said, calling me out.
"um, i was looking at the wall, sir.." I lied badly.
"ok, as long as you aren't going to jump him in my class..." He smiled.
"naw, i'll just wait till we are in the parking lot." i winked.
"tmi Miss Anna Marie." He said putting his hands up and continuing the lesson.
After class i got up and he turned to me.
"thanks for the pencil" He said holding it out for me to take it.
"keep it, like a... welcome to the school present." I said sarcastically.
"thanks, oh and i'm looking forward to the parking lot" He winked walking away chuckling. My cheeks got hot and i couldn't think of what to say next. Clem chuckled and i walked out of class. What a DICK! how dare he embarrass me... AGAIN! he want's to play this game, we will play this game. Gonna get my flirty lip gloss and show him who owns this school.
