Just Please Forgive Me
“WATER TAG!” Kenzie shouted while all of us were outside… playing with water guns.
“No,” I simply said.
“Aw, come on, Ky,” Tanner cooed as he pumped his gun… and started walking towards me.
“I don’t want to get wet!” I groaned.
“I think that means she does,” Tanner snickered at his little girl.
“No… don’t!” I added a finger point.
Their matching mischievous smiles came over their faces as they backed me up against the fence. I didn’t have any weapon either! I watched as Tanner’s finger moved to the trigger. Just as he was squeezing it, my sister’s voice came over us, making him stop. Oh, thank God.
“What are you guys doing?” she giggled with Kendall by her side.
“Water tag!” Kenzie replied, causing her and Tanner’s attention to turn to the newly arrived couple.
Before she could reply, I ran over and grabbed another gun. Without a word, I turned it on Tanner… and pulled the trigger. Water shot out, drenching him. I was enjoying this too much. Over his shouts of surprise, Kenzie, Kirstie, and Kendall’s laughter could be heard.
“Tanner’s it,” I snickered once I ran out of water.
He looked up at me with water dripping off of his hair, nose, and lips. Even though he was glaring at me… it was sexy. If we weren’t going to be in a death match of water tag, I would have went over and attacked him with kisses.
“RUN!” Kenzie giggled as she started running around the yard.
Of course Tanner just had his eyes sat on me. He had the upper hand… I was out of water. I dropped my gun and started running. He followed and started shooting at me as we ran. Once he was out of water, I slowed... I just happened to be by the pool. I will later regret this decision.
“I surrender!” I said while putting my arms up in defeat.
“You think it’s that easy?” he raised his eyebrow at me.
“I love you, baby,” I grinned, trying to butter him up.
“Aw, you said you loved me,” he cooed as he came over and held his soggy body next to mine.
I groaned playfully. But it was a cute little moment. He drew his head back to press his lips against mine softly. Once we parted, he just smiled at me.
“Just please forgive me,” he added.
Before I had time to question, he pushed me back. To try and not fall into the water, I grabbed onto his arm. He wasn’t expecting this though. It made the two of us fall in. When I surfaced, Tanner wasn’t far behind. He flipped his hair off of forehead before his eyes opened. Can he just top being sexy? I want to be mad at him!
“I win!” Kenzie shouted as she stood dry by the pool.
“Well, that was exciting,” Kendall snickered as him and Kirstie walked closer.
“I LOVE YOU!” Tanner shouted at me as he swam over and wrapped his arms around me from behind.
“I’m mad at you!” I whined while he rested his chin on my shoulder.
“But he loves you,” Kirstie cooed.
Tanner countered by leaving playfully kisses along my cheek… Ok, it made me smile. He’s too darn cute. I turned around and nuzzled up to him. Even though we were in our clothes… and going to be soaking wet when we got out, we just had a really cute moment. I couldn’t stay mad at him. We’re both wet now.
The two of us floated for a few more minutes tangled in each other. Kirstie and Kendall started teasing us… and Kenzie was going to jump in with all of her clothes on, so Tanner and I got out. We ran inside to get changed, leaving a trail of water behind. Looks like I’ll be mopping later…
Before I could disappear into my room, he tugged on my arm, pulling me against his chest once again. His smile was so bright. Without saying a word, he pressed his lips against mine, allowing us to share a loving kiss. I could only imagine the puddle of water that was forming from our clothes dripping. But right now, I didn’t care. I was in love… for the first time in a long time and it felt amazing!
