Turns out the director's daughter is getting married the same day. So rehearsals are called off for the entire month of August. All my actor friends felt the need to inform me multiple times that this literally never happens in the theater world. As far as my other job goes, it took some groveling (which you know how much I love), but I got my boss to give me the month off. My winning point was how I saved his ass a year ago the day of my “interview” and the fact that I had been waiting and singing. So I’m yours for all of August.
Also, Duncan says he would be delighted to go. We’re bringing Seth, his son, too if that’s ok.
