You Can Do Better Than Me.

1.

I grabbed my coat and tried to leave without getting noticed. I
reached for the door handle. I knew this would be the right thing for
him and his image. If I just left he could move on and marry the
perfect women and have the perfect family. He could forget about me
and all the trouble that I brought. I got one foot out the door before
my name was called.
"Where are you going?" Jordan asked.
So close. I was almost out. I looked into those beautiful blue eyes.
He deserved so much better than me. He worked so hard and was already
bothered by the media on a daily basis the last thing he needed was to
be burdened with my problems.
"You shouldn't be with me, you know?" I said
"What are you talking about?" he asked looking at me with a sense of
concern in his eyes.
"You're a famous hockey player, you should have a trophy wife to come
home to. You should have two kids and a dog. The perfect family. I'm
not the trophy wife. I listen to my music too loud. I smoke when I go
out onto the town. I like to party. I don't have a stable job. I wear
band t-shirts and leather jackets with high heels not pink shirts with
my hair in a pony tail. It would be better for your image if you
weren't with me."
"Fuck my image. That's the last thing I care about." he said as he
took my hand. "Taylor, I love you and that's all that matters. The
perfect family is something I can see myself having with you. Probably
not the same way you see but it's perfect. I only live once and I'm
going to do what I want no matter what anyone else thinks and I want
to be with you."
"Are you sure?" I asked "I come with a lot of baggage."
"I'm positive. Whatever comes our way we'll get through it together.
I've never wanted to be with someone as much as I want to be with you"
"It's gonna be rough." I said
"Not as bad as you think it is. Loving you comes easy."
I set my coat down and wrapped my arms around his neck. I laid my
forehead on his.
"I love you." he said before pecking my lips.
"I love you too." I said.
