Sick and Twisted Affair

"I'm like your dirty little drug."

--Serrah--

As if the bus ride hadn't already made me extremely tired I was now becoming numb. Part of me knew why I felt like this and the other part of me didn't. As soon as Matt has disappeared a second time I felt my heart tug and ache, he had pulled at my heart strings and I was suffering from it now.

I had gone from wanting nothing to do with him and having him hate me; to needing him around. I wouldn't have called it a protective-ness but, none other than a want. A need. I needed Matt but, I needed Sal. My mind couldn't decide which one I wanted more.

Although my debate didn't matter, Matt still didn't really want anything to do with me. He was gone, he wasn't here so, it wasn't like I had a decision. I cared about Sal, I wanted Sal. Why couldn't I see that.

I tossed and turned through my bedsheets and couldn't fall asleep. Sal and the boys had left hours ago to party and I opted to get some sleep. After the last party I went to, another one wasn't what I wanted. One failed party was plenty for me.

I heard the bus door slam and I sat up in Sal's bunk. I hoped it was one of the guys from the band and not some crazy fan girl of some sort. There was rustling around in the main area of the bus and it was causing the whole bus to shake. Their steps were loud and it seemed as though whoever this was, was drunk. Very drunk.

I leaned out over the edge of the bunk to try and see through the slider separating the bunks and the main room. There was a shadow going back and forth on the bus, it was visible. It looked as though this shadow wasn't alone.

"Selena, you can't be loud." A husky voice was speaking and sadly it sounded familiar.

Please don't be Sal or Matt, please don't be Sal or Matt...

Sal came through the slider practically holding the girl up. "Wow." I said quietly even though I knew he could hear me.

"Serrah! I totally forgot you were in here." Sal said with a stutter.

"Who's your friend?" I asked in a pissed off tone. I was a little offended that he had forgotten I was in here.

"This is.. uh Selena." Sal said a little jumpy. I could tell something was up and he was off his hinges.

"Whoo... is this... bitch?" Selena slurred out. Her eyes were half closed and her breath smelt of heavy alcohol and she wasn't even within reach of me. I rolled my eyes and stood out of Sal's bunk. I quickly pushed past him and made my way towards the door.

"No, Serrah. Listen to me." Sal said jogging after me.

"Just don't worry about it." I said pulling on my jeans and boots before walking towards the door.

"You don't understand." Sal said with sorrow in his eyes.

I felt bad so I stopped for a second. "Then what is going on?" I quietly asked with rage still in my voice. Who could blame me, this seemed to be exactly what it looked like.

"Serrah. I need blood and I don't want to drink yours." Sal said quietly while moving closer to me.

"Sal, I told you. It doesn't bother me, you don't have to go out and find a skank to drink from." I whispered back in anger and remorse. I couldn't believe that I had gotten as jealous as I had, I should have put the pieces together. He cared too much to feel as though he was taking advantage of me.

"I'll just step out here then." I said walking out of the bus and into the chilly air. It was cool but not freezing. I just looked around for a place to sit down and wait. I didn't want to go back in there while he was drinking from her.

Sometimes I had to remind myself that he was a vampire because it wasn't obvious. You alway thought of vampires as being something like cold blooded monsters with scary eyeballs and creepy teeth. You never really thought of them to be rockstars. It made me wonder if Nickelback was a band of vampires.

I heard some rustling from inside the bus and tried to shake it off and ignore it but, it wasn't exactly helping. "What are you doing out here?" I heard a familiar voice ask.

"Sal's inside, eating." My head picked the easiest possible word and it was 'eating'.

"That's Sal, so why are you outside?" He asked again leaning against the bus next to me.

"I don't want to be in there."

"Jealous?" He asked chuckling and taking a drink of his beer.

"Shut up." I snapped at him and fell back against the bus.

"You don't have to be so ferocious." He said laughing again.

"Around you guys, yeah I do."

"Well, it seems you have a point." He said looking towards me.

Matt's face was beautiful at night, his skin seemed so smooth and his eyes were so bold. He looked amazing at night. It seemed like moonlight just illuminated his face and made him glow. My lips couldn't help but, form a smile when our eyes met.

He leaned in and my heart started to beat a little quicker, was he going to kiss me right here in front of the bus? "Want to go have some fun?" He asked with a smirk while tossing his beer bottle into the trash.

"Better than being here." I said as he took my hand and bolted into the night. We stopped on the edge of a cliff and he dangled his legs off the edge and waited for me to do the same. My legs fell off the edge and I sat down next to him. "I honestly thought you were going to drag me to a party." My body relaxed as my eyes gazed over the city lights in pure awe. Wherever we were stopped for the night was gorgeous. I couldn't help but smile at all the lights.

"Serrah, you do accept my apology right?"

"Yeah, Matt. I do."

"I hate to sound like an asshole right now. But, I haven't had good blood in days..-"

"Go ahead." I said craning my neck so that he could go in.

In a matter of seconds his fangs were out and in my neck. It hadn't taken long to accept the fact that I was a drug to vampires. A necessary drug.

I wasn't the only obtainable form of the drug but, I was the best form.
