We were walking around the mall aimlessly, talking about random things when I suddenly blurted out, "I think your brother is charming."

I mentally slapped myself repeatedly when you didn't answer. I tried saying something but I was too awkward and stupid to say anything that made sense.

"Let's forget that you ever said that, yeah?" you finally said after minutes of pure silence. I nodded quickly (maybe too quickly) and walked closer to you, clutching the end of your shirt. It was a sign of my apology since I was afraid that I might say something stupid back then.

I expected to erase those words completely out of my brain but then while we were walking, I kept wondering, 'Why did I say that?'

Maybe it was a stupid attempt to make you jealous. Maybe it was a stupid attempt to get your attention. Maybe it wasn't just a stupid attempt. Maybe I really thought that John was charming.

"Do you like The Maine?" I finally asked you after minutes of silence. I thought that was smart question but now that I think about it, it's not.

"Yes. I went to their concert last year."

I gasped and slapped your arm as I hissed, "You didn't tell me?"

You just grinned and placed your arms around my shoulder, "You hit like a girl."

I grimaced and looked away, "Fuck off."

Then you started telling me about the concert that you went to. I know you know that I get easily jealous but you still continued telling me about the concert. Suddenly, I remembered something.

"Well, I went to an All Time Low and a Fall Out Boy concert," I said haughtily. I heard you mock-gasp and hit my arm playfully.

"You hit like a girl," I smirked. You grinned back and intertwined your fingers with mine instead of placing your arm around my shoulder. I almost froze at the sudden gesture. I was probably as red as a tomato while you were holding my hand.

Suddenly, you asked me, "Anyways, what's better, bass or guitar?"

"I think guitarists are cute," I said as I tried to distract myself from you by looking somewhere else.
The next thing I know, we were in front of a music shop. You pointed to a chair next to a piano and instructed, "You wait there, okay?"

I nodded and waited patiently for him. After 5 minutes (more or less, I don't remember), you came back with a bass guitar on your hand.

"What are you doing?" I asked you warily, eyeing the bass guitar that you were holding.

"Don't worry. My uncle owns the shop," you assured me as you sat on a chair in front of me.

You suddenly said, "Did you know that John plays the guitar?"

My eyebrow shot up and I said, "You don't say?"

When you said that, I swear, he just got more charming in my mind. I have a thing for guitarists, you see and the fact that John plays the guitar made him 5x hotter.

Then you started plucking the strings with your index and middle finger. While plucking, you looked at me and asked, "Do you know Raindance Maggie?" I simply nodded.

You started playing the funky bassline of Adventures of Raindance Maggie and my jaw dropped. The funky bassline started to flood my ears and cloud my mind. Hell, I didn't know you knew how to play bass. You didn't have compressor since I noticed you were plucking the strings hard. My face was starting to flush and I fanned myself with my hand while watching you. God, you looked so hot. To the point where I refrained myself from pouncing on you or telling you to take off your shirt like Flea.

Fuck, I wasn't bassists are hotter until now.

A compressor is something that you use to make the bass sound more louder.
