My Love For You Burns Hot Like The Sun
We Are Doing This on Asphalt
I wake up to a kiss on my forehead. I open my eyes and smile seeing Nate.
“Hey,” Nate whisper.
“Good morning,” I mumble out.
I sit up and hug him tight.
“How was everything?” I asks.
“It was fine. How was the race?” Nate asks.
“Good.”
Nate smiles at me. I look at him and sigh.
“You are tired,” I told him.
“A little yeah but it’s worth it,” Nate said.
I giggle at him and kiss his cheek.
“Lay down since he will be up soon and I go cook breakfast,” I told him.
“Ok.”
I go to my closet and get dress before walking downstairs and start making breakfast. I hear Christian laughing. Nate came in and looks at me.
“What did Momma make for breakfast?” Nate asks.
“Oatmeal,” I said.
“Yummy Yummy Oatmeal.”
I giggle at Nate and hand him a cup of coffee.
“Aw you got a perfect Mommy buddy, you better know you are lucky,” Nate said looking at Christian.
I giggle at Nate.
“Go set him down,” I told him.
“Ok.”
He smiles at me and go to the dining room. I grab the bowls. I go and set them and the oatmeal on the table. I go and get milk for me and Christian. I sit back down and get some Oatmeal.
“Did you take pictures on Saturday?” Nate asks.
“A little not a lot. They are all of him.”
“Ok.”
He kisses my forehead.
“How are you feeling with everything?” Nate asks.
“I’m fine Nate. I’m going to stay home for the other two races through.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I don’t like the box.”
Nate laughs and kisses my forehead.
“Did he had fun?” Nate asks.
“Yeah he played with Huston Deegan. I got in a box with them.”
“He played with another kid?”
“Who was four and let him do anything he wanted.”
“Right.”
“It’s normal honey or all the books say it is.”
He smiles at me and kiss my forehead.
“That’s good. How was everyone when they saw you?” Nate asks.
“Good. Monkey was a little stupid.”
“Why?”
“When I went to talk to you he took him to Chad’s to show him how the bike is different.”
“He is one.”
“Yeah Monkey isn’t smart. He did very little in his children life when they were this age.”
“Ok.”
We all eat and I go and put the dishes away. We take Christian outside. I grab the camera and Nate pulls the cover off of Christian’s bike. Christian’s eyes light up and run over to it. He pats the seat.
“This is yours buddy,” Nate said.
Christian looks at Nate and start making noises.
“Do you want to ride?” Nate asks.
Christian nods his head and start patting the seat.
“You need to get gear up,” Nate told him.
“Momma,” Christian said.
“You will get gear up. Come on,” I said.
I grab the gear and help Christian in them. I put the helmet on and he goes and tries to get on. Nate picks him up and he turn the bike on. Christian starts making it go straight.
“This is scary,” I said.
“He will do fine.”
“We are doing this on asphalt."
He looks at me and runs to Christian. I smile and go and grab him.
“NO MOMMA,” Christian yells.
“Out back on the dirt,” Nate said.
He pouts making me laugh. I go out back and Nate put his bike down. I put Christian on it. Nate turns it on and Christian start moving. I smile and take a picture of him on my phone.
“He knows how to turn right?” I ask.
“Yeah.”
“Make him.”
Nate runs and get Christian to turn I smile and see him go around a big oval while Nate tells him to turn. My phone rings and I look at it and see it’s my dad.
“Hey daddy,” I said.
“How you doing princess?” My dad asks.
“Good. Why did you call?”
“How I acted at Christmas was wrong.”
“It was shocked.”
“I’m happy to have another grandchild.”
“Thank you daddy.”
“What are you three doing today?”
“We going to find a baby sister we like.”
“That’s good.”
“Yep, while I have to go get the men inside ok.”
“Ok are you meeting them at the house?”
“Yeah.”
“Ok.”
I go and point to the house. Nate gets Christian to ride it in the garage. I get him out of gear and go inside and set him down. I go to the garage and open the gate through the cars. I go and get a cup of water and hand it to Christian. He takes it and starts playing with toys. There is a knock on the door. I get up and see Nate coming in. I smile and point to the couch. I open the door and see a college age women.
“Hello Are you Rose Adams?” She asks.
“Yes come on in Lilly,” I said.
“Thank you.”
She comes in and I show her to the living room.
“This is my husband Nate and that little guy is Christian,” I explain.
“Hello it’s nice to meet you Mr. Adams.”
She shakes his hand and I point to the chair and she sits down. We go with a guy since he is the only one that Nate and Christian likes and I semi trust. I look at the clock and see its lunch time and the baby sister Joey is still there since Christian hasn’t let him leave yet. Nate takes me out the room.
“I know I said I like him but I don’t know,” Nate said.
“Why?”
I look at him and he sighs and looks inside the living room.
“He is never like that with me,” Nate said.
“You are scared because he wants to play with Joey more right now than he ever have with you?”
“Yeah.”
I kiss his cheek.
“Joey can never replace you,” I told him.
“I know but…”
“You will always be the only one who takes him out ridding on his dirt bike.”
“That is true.”
I kiss Nate’s cheek and smile at him.
“I have a trust felling about him. Christian likes him and so do you. Christian will be done with him soon.”
Christian starts crying. Nate goes over and I fallow him inside and Christian runs to Nate. Nate picks him up and holds him against his chest.
“I’m sorry I just put the lion on,” Joey said.
“He doesn’t like the noise it scares him,” I told him.
“Oh.”
I look at Nate and he nods his head.

“Yeah and you both will be gone?”
“Yes most of the time you will watch him with we are going to be both out of the house.”
“Ok then I will see you both in a week.”
He leaves and Nate looks at me.

“I’m testing him out for shorter amount of times plus don’t we need some date time?”
Nate smiles and kisses my lips.
