The Foolish Prince

Chapter Two

He woke the next day refreshed and ready for
adventure. While leaving the castle, an old cobbler that he
knew since childhood, that would always tell him
wonderful stories, was visiting for the day, looked at him
with wide, wet, eyes. He staggered over as fast as he could
with his cane.

“Please! Oh please no! Don't chase after that witch!
My son was as foolish as you and was banished to a
strange, strange land! “ He told the prince with such a
pleading and sorrowful voice, that it was hard to ignore.

“I'm not your foolish son, I have brains and power and
shall not be tricked by the old witch!” The prince answered
quite arrogantly and out of character.

He left the castle and was off for a new day of
adventure.

Whenever he revisited his starting point, he heard. He
rushed towards the sound for hours and hours but, to no
avail. He went home, sad and angry that he still hadn't
found the beautiful girl with the magnificent voice. He
went straight to his chamber, ignoring everything and
everyone, especially the throne room where his father was
giving orders to the servants to lock all the doors for the
night.
