Three Cheers

"Oh yeah, Silver Tongue?"

My bed shifted slightly with little feet climbing onto it. I heard a small whine, "Where's daddy?"

I rolled over, rubbing my eyes, "He's on the couch, Baby."

She sighed, "Why not in here?"

"Because I like to sleep by myself."

Thora giggled, "Can I wake him up?"

"Yeah, go for it, Baby Bear."

Thora hopped off the bed and then ran out of the room. I listened to her jump on Gerard; "Wakey, wakey, daddy!"

Gerard let out a laugh, "Good morning, Baby."

I yawned and pulled a pillow beneath my head to sleep another few minutes before Busy woke up. But, before that thought even came into fruition, I heard her come in. She climbed into the bed, under the covers, "Mama?"

I rolled over, "Yeah?"

"Thora makes too much noise in the morning." She snuggled into one of my pillows.

"Yeah... Her and Gerard."

I could hear them singing loudly to whatever was on TV. And then, Gerard began to coax Thora into asking me to make breakfast. I sighed, Busy frowned, "We're too tired to deal with them."

I laughed, "We have to deal with them some time."

We both got up just as Thora came in quietly, "Uh... Mama... Are you goin' to make me breakfast? Daddy's hungry too."

I rolled my eyes, "Tell daddy to make his own damn breakfast."

The girls giggled, and Gerard came in, "I heard that."

"Well? Go on, make your own. Your arms and legs aren't broken." I shooed him off as I went into the bathroom.

Gerard picked up Thora, "Lets go make my specialty... Toast."

I huffed a soft laugh, Busy followed me into the bathroom, climbing onto the counter. I began to brush my teeth; she watched me, looking at me intently. I raised a brow at her, spitting out the toothpaste, "What's up?" I asked her.

"You're really pretty." She murmured.

I smiled after rinsing my mouth, "Thank you, babe."

I began to pull my hair back and then wash my face. I finished, and looked at Busy; "Are you still mad?"

She shrugged, "I don't know."

"You want to talk to him?"

"I don't know." She repeated.

I picked her up, "How about you eat pancakes and see if you feel up to talking to him?"

She nodded slowly, and then I carried her to the kitchen. Gerard had Thora on the counter, buttering toast.

"I want jam on mine," Busy said quickly to him. "Please?"

Gerard smiled at her, "Yeah, sure, B."

I set Busy down beside Thora, as they began to converse with Gerard. It was nice to see the three of them pick up where they had left off. The smiles and jokes were amazing; how quickly they got back to it.

I bit at the inside of my cheek, smiling at the close bond that they resumed. I was mad at him, still, but happy that he came back. I was happy that my girls were happy.

Gerard didn't bother me one bit. He played with Thora and Busy all morning, into the afternoon. I went about my schedule, leaving them home to play. I missed them, though -the girls- while at work.

I finally returned home, and saw that Mikey was there with them. They were nestled on the floor, under a fort made with unused sheets. I knelt down near the opening and peered in; Thora was asleep with her mouth open and Happy laying his head on her back. Busy was in Gerard's lap, watching the movie, Mikey was on the verge of sleep and Gerard was wide awake.

"Have fun?" I asked them.

Mikey pressed his head against a couch pillow beside Thora. He gave a small groan, and buried his head into the pillow. Gerard looked at me, "Uh, yeah. The kids thought of it."

"Come in," Busy murmured, finally looking at me, "It's fun."

"Mama has to change, then maybe I'll come in."

"'K." Busy turned back to the TV.

I stood up and went off to my room to change my clothes. I put my things away and began to change out of my clothes. I sat down on the bed, rubbing my neck and pulling my hair back. I jumped slightly when there came a knock in the door. Gerard came in, shutting the door behind himself, "Sorry, I just wanted to talk to you for a minute."

"Yeah?" I pulled my shirt on.

"I talked with B," he came over, slowly, "She ain't mad anymore."

"Oh yeah, Silver Tongue?"

Gerard smirked at me, "I just talked to her like I needed to. She and I are like this-" he twisted his index and middle fingers together, "Again. I swear, this time, I'm not gonna leave. Busy told me I couldn't, she even gave me a bruise," he sat beside me and pulled up the right leg of his sweats, "She kicked me like 4 times."

I smiled, "Remember when she kicked you the first time you mad her sad?"

Gerard chuckled as he pulled his pant leg down, "Yeah. She's one hell of a kicker... She should play soccer."

I couldn't stop laughing after he said that. Gerard gave me a small, humorous glare, and then laughed, too. "She's a bad ass, Gerard, I thought you knew?"

He nodded, "Not towards me, but I get it. She apologized, Thora even kissed it."

"See, being a daddy ain't so bad, now is it?"

He shook his head. "I'm really sorry, October."

"I know, Gerard. You know better not to come at me with sorries."

"Alright, alright."

I exhaled softly, waiting for him to say something. He licked over his bottom lip and then he stood, "I'm gonna head to this house Ray an I are renting to record... I'll be back in the morning. I'm gonna leave after I put the girls to bed."

"Alright."

He stood there awkwardly for a moment, before looking at me again, "Join us?"

I rolled my eyes playfully, "Okay... Since you're begging me with your sad eyes."

Gerard scoffed, "C'mon, woman."

I got up, letting Gerard take my hand, and followed him to the living room fort.

I believe I have concocted a perfect ending... In my head.
