Three Cheers

"Yes, I know."

I slowly awaited some form of trauma to hit me as the weeks past. I was so sure that one day, Gerard would get up and leave. When he wasn't beside me when I woke up, I always expected him to be gone. But, I would hear one of the girls giggle and cry out happily I knew he wasn't gone. I was happy he kept his promises to me.

Having him home with us was just like before. It was easy to fall back into our old routine. But, this time, he spent a lot more time with the girls.

I was happy just to see them all together.

By Halloween, everything was great. I was feeling a lot better, I was happier, too. This holiday, I made the girl's costumes, Mikey helped gore up Thora; she was a zombie princess. Busy wanted to Yoda; thanks to Mikey, too. Gerard had a field day with that.

The day of Halloween, we got them ready. Frank and Fran had come over with baby Anthony, who was dressed up as a baby Vampire. Fran had rolled her eyes at enthusiastic Frank, but didn't say anything.

"Happy Birthday!" Thora yelped as she ran to Frank. "Happy Birthday, Uncle Frankie!"

Frank hugged Thora, "Thanks, kid. What're you suppose to be?"

She twirled in her tore dress, "Uncle Mikey's makin' me a zombie princess!"

"Scary, Thora Bear," Fran cooed.

"Lemme see the baby!" Thora hopped now.

I laughed, "Calm down, Baby."

Thora stopped hopping as Fran showed her sleeping Anthony. "Ooh! He's a Vampire!"

"Yeah, a bad ass Vampire." Frank said proudly.

Fran nudged him, "Watch ya mouth, Frank."

Frank chuckled, "I'm just kidding."

Everyone gathered in the living room, where Gerard was applying green paint to Busy's face. Mikey had applied the ears; the big Star Wars geeks knew what to do.

Frank laughed as we sat, watching them; "Dream come true, uh?"

Mikey smiled, "Yep."

Mikey finished up Busy's fake ears and began to bloody up Thora. By the time they were all finished, we got ready to head out. Frank and Fran wouldn't be out too long, it being too cold for Anthony and all.

We went out, with Ray and his wife Clara, talking casually as we took the kids out. My brother BJ met up with us at a nearby neighborhood; "Hey, you want us to finish taking them for you?"

Gerard looked over at me, "Want to?"

I shrugged, "I don't know. I mean, you won't be out too late?"

BJ shook his head, "No, we're gonna head to this little party for the kids. Lots of games and stuff."

"You'll keep an eye on them?"

BJ laughed, "Yeah. I'm suppose to chaperone anyway. It's at a house right next to mine."

Mikey began to return from a house with the girls. I hummed a moment, "Let me ask them."

When the girls came over, I knelt to them, "You guys wanna go to a party with Uncle BJ?"

They both nodded happily, agreeing, "Yes!"

I smiled at them, "Will you be good?" More enthusiastic nods. "Will you stay inside where uncle BJ can see you?"

"Yes, mama!" Thora exclaimed. "I wants to dance!"

We all laughed, and I stood up, "Okay. You guys can go. But, no eating candy until you get home."

"I'll bring them home before 12."

"Thanks, BJ."

"No problem at all."

The girls hugged and kissed Gerard and I before taking off with BJ and his kids. Mikey, Frank, Fran, Clara, myself and Gerard all began to head home. As soon as we got there, we said goodbye to Frank and Fran, and baby Anthony. Ray and Clara headed off, with Ray telling Gerard to come by in the morning. Mikey stayed for a bit before leaving, too, going to meet with some friends.

So, it was just Gerard and I alone. The house was almost too quiet. I missed the girls loud steps and giggles.

I pressed my head to Gerard's shoulder as he flipped the channels. "I miss the girls."

"Too bad all you got is me." Gerard said with a laugh.

"You ain't so bad." I murmured with a giggle.

Gerard wrapped his arm around me, "Sweet, the Twilight Zone is on."

Again, I giggled and shook my head. I curled up under his arm, feeling content, very happy. And then, I felt the need to talk to Gerard. I wanted to ask about Eliza and so many other things. I sat up, and looked up at him, "Gerard."

He looked at me, his eyes switching between me and the TV, "Yeah?"

"Where's Eliza?"

He furrowed his brow and then looked at the TV again. "She's in New York... Doing hair, I think."

"Where you with her?"

Gerard sighed, "October, why are you asking this stuff?"

I sat up fully, grabbing his jaw to look at me, "Because I want to know."

He licked his lips, focusing on me, "We were only together for a little while. We haven't spoken in a long time."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm positive." He kissed my lips, smiling.

I sat back and curled back under his arm again. Gerard sighed quietly. "Is there anything else you want to know?" He asked a moment later.

"Not really." I said softly.

"I changed my number, you know."

"Yes, I know."

"She doesn't have our address or any of our numbers."

"I know, Gee."

"It's just us now." He added.

"I like when it's just us... And the girls."

Gerard pulled me closer to him, "I like it too."

I chewed at my lip, "I was thinking... Maybe... Uh, we could try and have a baby."

Gerard's body froze for a moment, startling me. I blushed deeply, cursing inwardly to myself about blabbing. Yes, I did want a baby, but I didn't want to just flat out tell Gerard.

He looked at me and blinked, "A baby?"

"Yes." I said slowly.

"Can we have one naturally, or do we adopt?"

I shrugged, feeling my face grow warmer and my heart racing. "I don't know. I think I gotta talk to my doctor."

Gerard smiled, "So, you really want a baby?"

"Yeah." I nodded, "I do."

He exhaled happily, "Then we're having a baby."

I bit at my lip now, "You want one?"

He nodded, "Yeah. I hope we have a boy."

I couldn't help but laugh, "Me, too."
