Three Cheers

"...That'll ruin her life."

Busy was getting ready for bed when Gerard called. Busy squealed happily, answering the phone before I could.

"Hi daddy!" She exclaimed, "Yoise comin' home yet? I miss you."

I watched her expressions change slowly, a big smile appeared quickly. She looked at me, "Daddy's here!"

I furrowed my brows slightly, only to have my confusion wiped away. The front door opened, Busy ran to it, and giggled, "Daddy!"

I followed her trail, seeing Gerard there, "Hey baby." He said softly as he picked her up and hugged her, "You're already going to bed?"

She hummed, "It's dark outside, daddy."

He chuckled, "Yeah, it is. I should go to sleep too, huh?"

"Yep."

Gerard came in, he smiled at me, carrying Busy, "Hey Sugar." He kissed me quickly.

"Hi, Gee." I felt my heart flutter for some weird reason.

"You want me to read to her?" He asked.

I shook my head, "No, Gee, it's okay. I bet you're tired."

He shrugged, "I'm good. I just wanted to see Busy before she went to sleep."

I smiled, "You can read to her, then, if you want."

He grinned this time, kissing me on my cheek, "I'll see you in your room after."

I rolled my eyes playfully, "Sure." I kissed Busy's forehead, "Goodnight, baby."

"Night, night, mama." Busy yawned slightly as Gerard carried her to her bedroom.

After cleaning up in the living room, and giving Happy water, I went to my own room. I passed Busy's room and smiled when I heard Gerard reading to her. I went into my room and changed into my pajamas; I was slightly annoyed with the fact that my clothes were all too big for me.

"Hey," Gerard came into my room a second later, "She's out."

I climbed into my bed, "She's been dying to see you."

He chuckled, "I know. I couldn't wait to see her, and you. We were all suppose to be fly out tomorrow morning, but I got an earlier flight."

"Gerard, I know you're tired."

He nodded, "I am, I haven't been to sleep since the morning before."

I shook my head, "Get in bed, you maniac."

He laughed softly, then began to remove his clothing. He got in when he was in his boxers; he climbed in, beneath the covers and laid back, pulling me with him. I rolled into his arms and laid my head against his chest.

"Good night." I said to him softly.

Gerard kissed the crown of my head, "Night, Sugar."

•••

Gerard was still asleep when both Busy and I got up. I let her crawl into my spot on the bed while I went to take a shower. She had crawl right into Gerard's arms and poked his cheek.

I took my time in the shower, letting the warm water hit my back. I wanted to relax for a moment and let the stress roll off; I was more than happy at the moment. No more worrying, at least for now anyway.

I got out, dried off and put clean underwear on, then entered my bedroom. Gerard was sitting up in bed, Busy was curled up on his lap talking to him. I went to the closet, got some comfortable clothes and began to dress.

"October," Gerard called to me.

"Yeah?" I exited the closet and closed the door.

"Busy told me the police were here." He gave me a questioning glance.

I tweaked my lips, "Yeah."

Busy frowned at us, "No fight."

"We aren't fighting, baby." I told her, I looked back at Gerard, "They arrested Eliza."

He looked slightly shocked, "How?"

I shrugged, "No clue. I'm gonna speak to her--"

"No you aren't." Gerard declared.

I sighed, "Gerard, I don't want to talk about it."

Gerard exhaled a sigh, too, "Later." He stated.

"Later." I agreed, "For now, let's go eat breakfast."

Gerard, Busy and I went into the kitchen. I went to make some eggs, but Gerard stopped me, "I'll do it." He said softly, "Sit down.

I did as he said, because there is no arguing with him. Besides, my head was throbbing a bit, I hated morning headaches. I let Busy sit on my lap, she was still upset about my and Gerard's little back and forth in the bedroom.

"We aren't gonna argue," I whispered to her, "I swear to it, Busy."

She hummed, "I no like yellin'."

I kissed the back of her head, "I know, B."

Gerard handed me my plate first, then gave Busy her small bowl with eggs and a piece of bacon. All Gerard had was a cup of coffee and some toast. He sat down, and even put Busy on his lap so he could feed her.

"Gee, aren't you hungry?" I asked.

He shook his head, "Nah, I'm good. I'll eat more later."

I poked at my food, Gerard fed Busy, who protested until he did the airplane trick for her. Gerard couldn't help but laugh and do it, "Open up, Biz, here comes the plane!" He steered a spoonful of egg towards her mouth.

She giggled and opened her mouth. This continued on until she and I were both finished. Gerard barely taken a bite of his toast, "Gee, eat." I said sternly.

He rolled his eyes, "Yes, mom."

Busy looked at him, "Mama is my mama!

Gerard laughed, "I know, B."

I took our plates and put them in the sink, "B, what do you wanna do today?" I asked her.

"I wan' go to Uncle BJ's." She said happily, "I see Jilly."

"I'll call him, see what he's doing." I told her, "Go get dressed, I'll be there in a second to help."

Busy hopped off of Gerard's lap and skipped to her room. I grabbed my cell phone from the counter and dialed my brother's number. I sat back at the table with Gerard, who looked anxious; I knew he wanted to talk about Eliza.

"October, hey, I was just about to call you." BJ's voice broke my stare at Gerard.

"Really? What's up?"

"I'm taking the kids to Lego Land, I was going to ask if you and Biz wanted to come along."

"Uh, I don't know... Gerard is here."

"That's cool, he can come too." BJ replied, "It's this Back To School event happening, the kids begged."

"What time?"

"Noonish."

"We'll talk about it and I'll get back to you."

"For sure."

"Alright, see ya."

I hung up with BJ, and looked over at Gerard, "He's taking his kids to Lego Land, he asked if we wanted to go."

"You want to?" He asked as he brought his coffee mug to his lips.

"I don't know." I said with a shrug, "Do you?"

He gulped down his coffee, then spoke, "Yeah. If it means I can be with Busy."

"Okay, I know B will wanna go."

"Mama!" Busy called just then, "I gets my head stuck again!" She ran in, in just her underwear and her head stuck in the sleeve.

I laughed softly, "Aw, BB." I helped her out, "There you go."

"I go see Jilly?" She asked, straightening out her shirt.

"Yeah, I called Uncle BJ and we're gonna go to Lego Land."

Busy's eyes lit up, "Yay! Daddy come too?"

Gerard nodded, "Yeah, I'm gonna come too."

"We's have fun!" She exclaimed, "Mama, helps me put muh pants on, please."

I chuckled and got up, taking her hand, "Okay, let's go."

•••

Busy had fallen asleep on our ride over to BJ's. Jill wanted to ride with us so she could talk with Busy so I was gonna pick her up. My niece Jill is 6, she and Busy are attached at the hip.

Just as we got on the freeway, Busy had fallen asleep, and Gerard looked over at me, "Can we talk now?"

"About Eliza?" He hummed, "Alright, what?"

"Why do you wanna talk to her?" He asked quizzically.

"I want to know why." I said.

"She ain't gonna give you a reason other than she's pissed off, October." Gerard spoke down to me, as if I were dumb.

"I'm not an idiot." I muttered, "I know that."

"So, why talk? Press charges and send that psycho to prison."

"I'm not pressing charges."

Gerard gawped at me, I felt his eyes as I drove, "Are you fuckin' stupid?"

"I am not stupid," I snapped back, "I don't want to--"

"You're acting like you are, October. She needs to be punished." Gerard exclaimed.

I frowned, "Gee, I don't want that for her. She may be a bitch, but she doesn't deserve to have her life ruined."

Gerard shook his head, "I'm sorry for calling you stupid. You ain't stupid, you're a sweet woman. If I were you, I'd send her ass to prison and throw away the key, all while laughing." He smirked.

"I can't do that."

"She don't feel no guilt for it, Sugar. I recommend you file charges." He told me.

"Gerard, that'll ruin her life."

"She ruined your store! You worked hard, you cried, October. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a fuckin' tooth." He spoke angrily, "I wanna strangle her."

I thought about it, "You think I should?"

"Yes. Don't feel guilty, she got caught for a reason."

I sighed, "Fine."

We were quiet as I got off the freeway. Gerard gave a soft laugh, "Y'know, this'll be the first time I'll be meeting your family, aside from your parents."

I chuckled too, "Oh yeah, wow. Well, my brother Billy has a beard kinda like my dad, but he's fatter. Is that bad? I used to be fat, too." I rambled.

"You weren't fat, you were chubby, cute." Gerard reflected.

I snorted, "I was fat, babe. Especially after I had Busy."

"You were not." He said, he quickly changed the subject, "Now, tell me about his kids."

"He's got Little Billy, Jillian, Bre, and Kevin." I told him, "LB is 14, Bre is 12, Kevin is 11, and Jillian just turned 6."

"BJ married?"

"Yeah, his wife's name is Cherie, she's a red head. She kinda looks like Ginger Spice from the Spice Girls."

Gerard laughed, "Nice one."

"She does. She's real nice, too. She's got a country accent."

"Where'd he meet her?"

"He toured with his band down south and married her about 15 years ago."

"Your brother is in a band, too?" He questioned.

"They all are, except for Jeremy; he's a realtor."

"What's his band's name?"

"Uh... I dunno. I never asked." I said with a shrug, "Music never interested me, Gee."

"We need to change that, ASAP."

I rolled my eyes playfully, "Yeah, we'll see, buddy."
