Three Cheers

"So conceited,"

Again, time went by quicker than I anticipated; but things were great. I saw Elsa everyday, and Busy just loved her. Gerard was with us, but he was anticipating his album's release and the touring schedule. It was nice that I was going to have Elsa around to help with Busy when she would miss Gerard.

Aside from all that, my parents were taken by surprise when they saw Elsa again. It was a bit awkward, especially with my mom. My mom looked a bit angry, but she and Elsa talked alone and they smoothed over what they assumed was hard feelings between them. Elsa wasn't mad at my mom, she thought my mom was mad at her. It was such a relief, to all of us, when they hugged and made up. The best part of it all was that Elsa was happy to work within my family and baby sit the younger kids, along with Busy. My brother's and their wives appreciated that. That little bit of lost I ha once felt was filled because when Elsa returned, it was like my entire family was back together.

And, I was ready to bring Gerard's family into Busy's life as well. I was a little nervous about seeing Mikey and especially their mom. I felt like maybe there was some animosity between us; her more so than myself. I only wanted Busy to know her other grandma, to meet more family. I also wanted Donna to meet her, to get closer to Busy.

Gerard had planned the trip to New Jersey by himself. He didn't want me to stress about it; my cyst had gone away, and I'm still suppose to take things easy. We weren't bringing Elsa along, since she had her hands full with taking care of my nieces and nephews; she loves them. Busy was more than excited about meeting Donna; she wanted to meet Gerard's mama, as she says, and to see Uncle Mikey and his current girlfriend. We would even see Frank, too, so Busy was happy to go.

Speaking of happy, we couldn't bring Happy along. My dad welcomed to watch Happy for the duration we would be gone, which is two weeks.

Packing for Busy is probably the hardest thing to do. She is so picky about what she wants to take and wear; mind you, she is two years old and worries about how she'll look. Not her body, her clothes; she's such a diva.

"I don't want that!" she poured at me, "I want the dress!"

I shook my head, "It's October, honey, you need to wear pants so you won't get cold!"

She crossed her arms at me, "I wanna wear a dress!" she stomped her foot.

"B, it's too cold." I tried to reason, "Mama doesn't want you to get sick."

Her pouting softened, "I wear pants under." she tried to reason with me now.

I smiled, then sighed, "Okay, fine, you win."

She clapped her hands, "Thank you, mama!"

I shook my head again, "Yeah, yeah, you're welcome."

Gerard came in while I was still getting her bag ready, "Mama relented?" he smirked at me.

"She is stubborn." I muttered.

Busy frowned at me, "What?"

"You're stubborn, B. you want it your way or no way."

She giggled, "B Way!"

Gerard laughed and picked her up, "Yep, B Way's way. She gets what she wants." he sat down on her bed with, right next to the bag I was packing.

"All dresses." I told him.

Gerard frowned, his hand tickling Busy's side, "B, you can't wear dresses all the time."

She put her hands on her hips, "Uh huh, I is."

Gerard broke down and smiled again, "You're so cute, baby girl."

Busy laughed, "I know that!"

"So conceited," I said funnily as I zipped up her bag, "Just like her daddy."

"What that mean?" she asked.

"It means that you know that you're cuter than everyone else." Gerard explained.

Busy nodded, "Is true!"

I leaned over and kissed her face, "Yes it is, cutie pie."

•••

The plane ride to New Jersey was a bit shaky; the weather was stormy on the East coast. Busy slept the entire way. Actually, she and Gerard both fell asleep the entire flight; I was the only one who felt the turbulence.

We finally landed and I had to shake Gerard awake; he stirred and wiped the drool from his mouth. I picked up Busy, letting her wrap her arms around my neck and led the way off. Gerard kept his arm on my shoulder, following tiredly behind me.

We exited the plane and got to the gate; Gerard spotted Mikey right away. I didn't say a thing, I went to the baggage claim, still digging my nervousness. Gerard found me just as I got my and Busy's bag; "We got the bags, Sugar." Gerard said as he rubbed his eyes.

"Thanks," I saw Mikey, "Hey Mikey."

He waved shortly, "Hey." he took my bag, "How's the kid?"

I smirked at him, "Busy is very well."

"Busy," he said her name as if he had forgotten, "Yeah, B." he said to himself again; "Gosh, she looks like Gee when he sleeps."

"I told you." I nudged Gerard.

He laughed, "I got strong genes."

I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, yeah."

"Follow me," Mikey replied after Gerard's bag came around, "Mom's cooking and waitin' for you."

I hiked Busy up onto my hip, she groaned, "I sleepy."

"I know baby, we're going to Grandma's right now." I cooed to her.

She perked up and looked at me; her tired hazel eyes were heavy, "Already?" she asked with her brows up.

I nodded and kissed her nose, "Yep, you slept the whole way."

She yawned softly, then laid her head on my shoulder, "I still sleepy, mama."

I kissed the side of her head, "It's okay, just sleep."

I held Busy when we got into Mikey's car. I kept her close as the rain began to pour; Mikey drove extra carefully, Gerard kept complaining that he was driving slow; "I'm not gonna be responsible for an accident, so shut up, Gerard." Mikey had retorted.

Gerard groaned, "You take forever."

I nudged Gerard, "Leave him alone, let 'em drive."

Gerard looked back at me, his furrowed brow smoothed back, "Fine."

I wanted Mikey to go as slow as he could. Mainly, I was still nervous. I could only try to keep my thoughts from bothering me.
