Follow His Beer Light

The bitter comes out better on a stolen guitar

You're the blessed, we're the Spiders From Mars

Ziggy Stardust was the front man to the underground rock band Weird and Gilly. He felt quite at home in the community of graffitied rock pubs, loud guitars laced with screaming, easy women with excessive amounts of make-up yet little clothing, and small stages with suspicious powders that ended up on people's noses by the end of the evening sprinkled on them. He was born in the chaos and expected that he would die among it, perhaps overdosing on whatever drug was his fancy at the time or being trampled by a group of angst filled teenagers. It was how it was meant to be and he never wanted it any other way. Until chaos overtook him, he contented himself with his guitar, drugs, women, and old science fiction memorabilia.

After he becomes involved with a mysterious young woman his drug-created sci-fi visions becomes a reality when he learns that the survivors of an alien race believe he is their savior and that the Earth only has five years left.

Lady Stardust sang his songs of darkness and disgrace
