I'll Be There

Rose strikes again

Dj had decided to take her back to the hotel. Screw Axl. Dj had promised this girl that he would tutor her, and at the very least that’s what he was going to do. On the way back she had his phone again, and surprisingly played a lot of songs that he liked. They sang songs together the whole way back, Dj trying desperately not to air guitar to all of the GNR songs she played (which was a few, because they’re one of her favorite bands). They pulled into the guest parking area, and he helped her out as usual, but with a smile this time. He could tell she was surprised by his sudden change of attitude. But after all, she was a nice young woman and she deserved to be treated as such. They entered through a side door and took the elevator up to his level that all of the bandmates shared, with each his own room. Just to be cautious he looked both ways down the hall before taking her hand and leading her to his room. Right as he slid his card key into the door however, the one two doors over and across the hall opened. “Shit.” Dj said under his breath. He was about to go in anyway and pretend he wasn’t there, but then he heard his name called. He sighed and turned around. “Hey, Axl.” They hugged and looked at each other. “Who’s your friend?” Axl asked nicely. Dj resisted the urge to scowl, because he knew exactly who she was. He swore he was such an ass sometimes. Dj looked at her though and introduced them. “Axl this is Raven…Raven, Axl Rose.” Raven held out her hand. “It’s an honor to meet you sir, I love your work and the show was great.” Axl hesitated, then decided to be courteous and return the gesture. “Glad you could make it. You coming to the next two?” Raven looked down slightly. “Well…no, I only had enough to buy one ticket.” Axl took the opportunity to glance at Dj before speaking, “Well, that can be fixed. I’ll get you backstage at the next two guaranteed.” Her head snapped up, her eyes alight with joy. “Really?” She asked. “Really.” Axl confirmed. Then he looked at Dj. A very direct, personal smirk. “I’ve got things to do, see you later Dj…Raven.” Then he sauntered back to his room and shut the door with a haunting boom. Dj knew exactly what he was doing. And it wasn’t cool.
