The Wrong One

thirteen.

Zacky was up an hour and a half before Sian even thought about stirring.

Sian cracked her eyes open and saw Zacky sitting hunched over the desk in the room. She could tell he was concentrating by the way he was breathing. His head was resting on the palm of his hand. She silently yawned, sat up and stretched. She threw her hair into a messy bun on top of her head and watched him. Every once in a while he would mutter about something being “dumb” or “stupid” and she was dying to know what he was talking about. He was so wrapped up in his work that he didn’t hear her get out of bed, announce she was going to shower, or hear the water start.

Twenty minutes later, he’d finally figured it out and jumped up from the desk. He whirled around to the bed to find it empty. He hollered her name, and when she didn’t answer, he barged into the bathroom looking for her.

Too bad she was stepping out of the shower at that exact moment and happened to be completely naked. She had one leg out of the shower and her arm was extended to get a towel. Her shocked face matched his and they both yelled at the same time. Sian’s arm quickly brought the towel to cover her front and Zacky’s hand slapped to his eyes to make sure they were covered. He tried to back out of the room, but he back into the door frame. He tried to go forward and ran into the other side, before finally turning and leaving.

Sian wrapped the towel more securely around her and slammed the bathroom door shut. Her face was flaming red at the thought of Zacky seeing her completely naked. She was appalled, really.

Zacky, on the other hand was shocked. He knew she was beautiful; hell, she had to be since he thought Samantha was. Sian’s figure on the other hand was something to make his mouth water. She was a bit thicker than her sister which only added to her appeal. Her breasts were fuller and larger and only added to his temptation. Her thighs were thick and in the five seconds he saw her naked skin, he imagined those thighs wrapped around him.

Once she’d shut the door, he had to take several deep breaths to calm himself. He felt his pants tent in the front and knew that was a bad sign. He took a few more deep breaths and tried to think of anything else, but anything he thought of led him back to his thoughts.

She came out a few minutes later. Her long hair was wet down her back, and she was wearing a pair of shorts with a red, white and blue belt. A long-sleeved checkered shirt was around her top and he could see her scar as the shirt rode up when she moved. She didn’t speak, nor did she look at him. She moved around her side of the room, putting clothes in pockets, pulling things out, and putting on her sandals. Finally, she turned and saw him sitting in the chair at the desk. She just blinked, looked away, and went back into the bathroom. She left the door open, though.

He picked up the piece of paper he’d been working on before she woke up and went into the bathroom. She continued working on her makeup while he pulled himself up on the counter beside her. She paused as she applied her eyeliner to shift her eyes to his reflection, but then went back to applying it.

“So,” Zacky started but Sian cut him off.

“Why don’t we just forget that happened? I won’t mention it if you won’t,” Sian said, setting her eyeliner down.

Zacky took one look at her, from her serious expression, to the tone of her voice, and the fact she only had one eye done, and laughed. He wasn’t going to bring it up at all, and here she was, turning six shades of red under his gaze.

“I wasn’t going to mention that at all, but alright, sure,” he said once he’d finished laughing.

“Then what were you going to say?” Sian asked, cautiously. She picked her eyeliner back up and applied it to her right eye.

“I made a list this morning before you woke up.”

“What does this list contain?”

“It contains shit I did when I was a kid.”

“Now, why would you make a list of things you did when you were a kid?”

“I’m going to help you have your childhood,” Zacky said with a smile on his face.

Sian paused in the middle of making sure her eyeliner was straight and blinked at him. “Are you serious?”

“Yes, Sian, I’m dead serious. I’m going to re-create your childhood for you.”

“Who says I want to?”

“I do. I’m saying we’re going to fucking do this. I’ve already determined I’m going to help you, and damnit, we’re going to do this.”

Sian’s face showed her surprise and then one side of her mouth turned up. “Alright then.”

“Good, now come in here to the desk and write down what the hell you wanted to do when you were a kid.”

“Why don’t I just tell you and you write it down so I can finish getting ready?”

“Alright, fine,” Zacky said and clicked his pen, placing the piece of paper down on the counter.

Sian looked down and cocked her head so that she could read his writing. She saw his name with a line underneath it and he had a list of about twenty different things. The first one was get a piercing, and the last was lose his virginity. She laughed and he looked up.

“What?”

“You wanted to lose your virginity as a child?”

“I count anything under the age of eighteen as being a child, Sian.”

“Point taken,” she said and her smile grew.

“So, what did you want to do when you were a kid?”

“I always wanted to sleep late. I never could sleep late; I was the first one up, I made breakfast, I helped make sure everyone was on the bus, and I went to school.”

“So you want to sleep late?”

“Yeah, I guess that could be on the list,” she said, shrugging.

“Sleep…late…” Zacky said as he wrote. “What else?”

“A piercing,” she said, suddenly excited.

“You have your ears pierced.”

“No, I mean like a nipple or my tongue or something,” Sian said, laughing.

“Whoa, you’re gonna go balls to the wall, aren’t you?” Zacky asked with a laugh.

“Then I know I want a tattoo, now. I’m sure I want one.”

“Tattoo…” Zacky wrote down.

“Other than that, I’m not really sure…I didn’t really need a lot,” Sian said, and pulled herself up on the counter beside Zacky.

“Well, we already had our night of fun out, so let’s not do that again,” he said and elbowed her.

“Yeah, definitely not.”

“What about any laws; did you want to break any laws?”

“No, not really. I mean, I rode without my seatbelt, and I drank before I was twenty one, but that was the extent of my rule breaking,” Sian said, seriously.

“Well, I’m going to fix that,” Zacky said with a wicked grin.

He hopped down off of the counter and out of the bathroom.

“Wait, where are you going?!” Sian asked and followed him into the bedroom.

He was shrugging on a jacket and he just smiled. He moved around the room, collecting things and putting them in his pocket. He set a room key card by a piece of paper on the desk and walked to the door.

“When you’re done getting ready, there’s a piece of paper on the desk with an address. Meet me there.”

She watched as he winked at her and then he was gone out of the door. She rushed over to the desk and read the address. She vaguely remembered it and Samantha had talked about it, but what did Zacky want to go to the Uffizi Museum for?

She quickly blow dried her hair, opting to let it hand loose today, and grabbed her sunglasses, bag, and room key before pulling the door shut behind her.
