Silence of Our Voices
Chapter 6.
Apparently, the city wasn't that unlike the one above. Same basic layout, honestly. But there were so many more people outside. There weren't any laws on loitering. Josh and Anthony stared down every guy that looked my way, and after a while, Anthony snaked his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
“Hey guys,” I said slowly, looking around for restaurants, “Where are we eating?” I asked. Anthony smiled at me.
“The diner,” he stated, “Where else would we go?” he asked, laughing. I smiled and laughed a little. As much as we frequented the music store, we were at the diner even more. That place was our home. We ate there more than everywhere else combined. It’s where I met Anthony, and my band. It’s where I saved some guy’s life when he was choking, earning me free milkshakes for life.
“I love the diner,” I stated.
“Don’t we all?” Josh asked, smiling. His lip ring glistened a little, making my heart melt. Wait...what the fuck? I don’t like Josh! I hate the guy! What am I doing?
“Tegan, are you okay?” Anthony asked. I realized I had stopped walking.
“Yea...yea. Fine,” I mumbled, walking again.
“Seriously, though, I think this might work,” Josh said, obviously, I had tuned out of a conversation.
“Yea, I do too. I just hope we don’t get caught,” Anthony sighed. I nodded, knowing what they were talking about.
“I can’t see living if they do,” I said. Anthony nodded.
“Yea, can you say hung?” Josh asked. I giggled.
“You mean hanged?” Anthony asked, pulling me close to him still. He laughed a little too, and kissed my temple. Josh raised his eyebrows.
“Are you two dating or something?” he asked. I shook my head and Anthony laughed the word, “No!” Josh shrugged.
“Looks like it,” he said, walking into the diner. Well, I’m freaked out by the fact I think Josh is cute, and the fact Anthony give off the vibe we’re dating.
