All I've Ever Wanted

Chapter one: Coffee & Superstars

The next morning, I woke up around ten. Rubbing some sleep from my eyes, I swing my legs over the edge of the bed and stand up, stretching real big. I grab my phone off the night stand and press the lock button on the top of my iPhone. I had a few messages, a text message from my mom, one missed call from her plus a voicemail from my mother also and a text from my younger sister, Abigail or Abby as everyone else calls her. She was fifteen.

I smiled as I began to read the messages they sent me. I opened Abby’s first and began to read: Hi Sammy! Did you make it to England? :D That put a smile on my face.

I began to reply back to her. Yes I did! =) After sending that message, I started to read what my mom had texted to me. Hey sweet girl. Did you make it in okay? I haven’t heard from you. Hope everything is ok. I love you baby girl.

Smiling at her message, I started to type back. I did. I passed out as soon as we got to their house from the airport. Sorry for worrying you. I love you too, mom.. Once I tapped the blue Send button to send the iMessage, I pressed the home button to take me back to my home screen before locking my phone and setting it down.

I slowly make my way over to the dresser to search for something to wear. After not too long, I picked out a loose sleeveless black shirt that had rips down the back and a pair of denim shorts. I grabbed my bra and some underwear from the drawer before I walked in to the bathroom that was connected to the room. Nifty, I finally had my own bathroom that I didn’t have to share with anyone.

Back home, I have to share it with my sister and our youngest brother, Bradley, who was ten. It was impossible to do anything, let alone actually use it with younger siblings. Being the oldest, I take my time and use most of it putting on my make up before school every day. I was so glad I didn’t have to worry about that for a whole summer. It was going to be great.

I loudly closed the door behind me as I walked in. After turning the water on to ‘warm’ I waited for the water to heat up before I stripped down and got in the shower once I noticed the glass starting to fog up from the heat. I stepped under the water and let out a small groan as the water cascaded down on my skin. It felt good and soothing. I started to wash my hair with coconut shampoo. Once I was done washing it, I rinse it out before I started to put the conditioner through my hair.

After I combed my hair after letting the conditioner soak in a bit, I rinsed it out before I started to wash my body. I used some really good smelling watermelon body wash. The scent was strong on my nose. I finished up in the shower about five minutes later. After rinsing the body wash off my body, I shut off the water and opened up the glass door of the shower.

I felt the cold air whoosh against my bare skin as I stepped out of the shower. I grabbed a towel and securely wrapped it around my body before grabbing another clean one I found to use for my hair. Once I wrapped my hair up in the towel, I started to dry my body off fully before slipping on my underwear and bandeau-style bra.

After I put on my bra and underwear, I dropped the towel in the dirty clothes hamper before I started to put on my outfit for the day. Once I put on my outfit, I began to do my makeup. I put on a little bit of blush, some mascara and eyeliner I put on kind of heavily, not too much or not too little. It looked just about right.

I finished about a half hour or so later, my teeth brushed real good, gargled some Listerine and put on my deodorant. After walking back into my room, I grabbed my phone before heading down the stairs to see what everyone was up to.

“Morning, Samantha,” my Aunt Cindy smiles over at me as I walk into the kitchen.

“Morning,” I said quietly yet politely. I didn’t want to sound rude. I wasn’t a morning person and this is the first time I have ever been around them in the morning. It was kind of weird, but hey, I’ll get used to it.

“How are you this morning, sweetie?” she asked, smiling over at me. I still can’t help but get lost in their accent while they talk and I haven’t even been here in England an entire day yet.

“I’m good, thanks. And you?” I reply back, kindly as I take a seat on a stool in front of the counter.

“Good, just a bit tired, stayed up late reading. Thanks for asking,” she said smiling in my direction.

I smile before opening my mouth to speak again, “Where’s Nichole?” I ask, looking over at my aunt, a look of confusion on my face as I begin to wonder where my cousin could be.

“She’s asleep, I think her boyfriend Lou must’ve snuck in last night,” she replied, smiling and shook her head, a smile still on her lips. I never could remember if she ever told me that she has a boyfriend. I can’t recall that she told me.

“Hu-Who’s asleep?” I heard the voice and look up to see Nichole slowly walking into the room, her eyes tired with sleep. A tall, tan dark-haired boy was slowly moving behind her, I’m guessing was Lou probably.

“Look whose up!” my Aunt Cindy says, smiling over at her daughter and her so-called boyfriend.

“Shut up-” she muttered in the direction of her mother and took a seat on the stool next to mine. The boy came up behind her and put his arms on her waist and rested his chin on her shoulder, staring up at her.

I was kind of jealous; I wanted someone to look at me like that. Love, that has been something I have wanted for so long. I just wanted someone to love me and to love someone myself as much as they love me. I mean, I have been in a couple relationships in high school, but they were just very short and brief, nothing too serious. All I wanted was to find someone who truly loves me and won’t hurt me in the end.

Since I am finally here in London for the summer, I wanted change. Something different, but more than anything, I want to find love. That is the one thing I have always wanted, someone to love me truly and mean it. I wanted to be with someone who I could share my thoughts with, secrets, hopes and dreams and be madly in love.

“Morning Sam!” I heard as I was pulled from my thoughts.

“Morning, Nichole,” I reply, smiling over at my cousin. She is actually a year or two older than me. I was eighteen and she is 20 which makes a two year difference between us.

“Oh, and this is my boyfriend Louis,” she pats his shoulder and smiles. He stands up and puts out his hand for me to shake, a warm smile on his face. I smile and take his hand, shaking it.

“I’m Louis,” he said in his perfect British accent. As I stared at him, I could have sworn I knew him from somewhere. He looked really familiar. Where have I seen him before? His name was Louis…the only thing I could possibly think of was Louis Tomlinson of the British pop boy band, One Direction. Could it be him?

“Nicky?” I asked, putting my hand on her shoulder as I looked at her, a confused look on my face.

“Yes, Sam?” she questions, looking back at me, an equally confused look on her face.

“Can I talk to you for a minute? Alone…” I ask, looking at her.

She nods and replies, “Sure, of course…” she trails off and looks up at Louis telling him she’ll be a few minutes. We both stand up and walk in to the other room.

Once I knew we were alone in the living room, I looked at her.

“What do you need to talk to me about?” she asks, looking over at me.

“Is that Louis, I mean, the Louis Tomlinson from One Direction?” I ask as simply as I could.

She nods and smiles. “The one and only,” she smiles widely.

“Wow. You two are cute, how long have you been together?” I ask, smiling at her as we walk back in to the kitchen where he was standing with her mother.

“About to be a year,” she smiled over at him as he caught site of her, a wide grin quickly surfaces on his lips.

Louis comes up behind her and wraps his arms around her waist, smiling. “Hi, beautiful,” he says and kisses her cheek. I smile, they were super cute.

“It’s real nice to meet you,” I manage to blurt out as I stare over at the happy couple.

“You too! I’ve heard so much about you,” he says, smiling in my direction.

“So, Sam, is it? Would you like to get some tea or coffee with me and Nichole? We’re going to meet up with the boys.” Louis asked, looking at both of us girls, from the side of Nichole’s face to directly over at me.

I smile and nod, letting them know I’d love to go. “I’d love to!” I say, kindly. Nichole ran toward the stairs to go change and get ready. She came back down about ten to fifteen minutes later, her hair all done back in a braid, light touch of makeup, a cute outfit and sandals to complete it.

Before we knew it, we were in her car, on the way over to a nice café near downtown. We made it in about ten minutes or so. The two held hands as we walk up to the front entrance of the café.

Louis opened the door for both of us girls, being a nice gentleman. I thought he was super nice and friendly. After walking in, I feel the immediate scent of warm tea and brewed coffee fill my nose. It smelled good; I love the smell of coffee being made. I always have ever since I was little growing up.

I begin to look around the shop after we got in line. My thoughts were interrupted by a group of boys yelling, “Louis, Nichole! Over here!” I didn’t even notice them walk off leaving me standing by myself.

“Come on Sam! Over here, don’t stand there all by yourself!” Nichole muttered in my direction. Once I was out of the line, I pick up my pace as I hurry over to them. Four boys minus Louis stood before me. Was One Direction actually standing in front of me? I couldn’t believe it! Was I dreaming or was this real life?

“Guys, this is Sam! She’s Nichole’s cousin, she’s visiting from the States,” Louis informs the boys. I couldn’t help but notice one of them staring at me. Harry seemed like he was in a trance, looking in my direction. Was he staring directly at me? I could feel butterflies in my stomach. He was so good-looking; I couldn’t keep my eyes off him. There was just something about him.

His curly hair fell over his eyes. I smile as I look down at the ground, trying to keep myself from smiling.

“I-It’s nice to meet you. I’m Harry,” Harry puts out his hand for me to shake. I take it and shake it. His hands were so warm and he has such a tight grip. A few minutes later, we both slowly pull our hand away.

“It’s nice to meet you too. I’m S-Sam,” I smile back at him. I could see him blushing. I couldn’t help but stare at him, smiling myself; he was super cute and good looking.

“I-I could buy you something i-if you’d like,” he offers, smiling at me. I nod, which let him know I didn’t mind.

“What would you like, love?” he asks, smiling again.

“A small hot white mocha please,” I say, politely and smile at him. He walks off to go get in line. He returns with my drink a few minutes later.

“Thank you,” I reply softly as I take a small sip of my drink.

“No problem, love,” he smiles at me as he took a seat next to me at one of the tables in the café. We start to talk and get to know one another for a little bit. I learned that he is from Holmes Chapel, London, where Nichole and her family are from. We are both the same age, eighteen. He is only a few months older than me. He has a cat named Dusty. I have a dog named Rosie; she is a six month old Corgi puppy.

After a few hours of just talking and getting to know each other better, we finally headed back home. I kind of didn’t want to leave but I guess we had to since Aunt Cindy wanted us home for dinner. I didn’t want to leave the café. I wanted to sit and talk to Harry. I didn’t know what it was but after only talking to him for a short bit, I feel like I have known him forever. I was really starting to like it here in England, all because of him.
