Never Again
Carmen O'Connell and Anthony Stiles have been best friends since birth. Or, they were until 6th grade. In 6th grade, one day Anthony was a regular guy who hung out with a regular girl, then the next, he was Mr. Popularity. Complete with ignoring Carmen and all the other 'ordinary' kids in school. Now, senior year, he suddenly wants to be friends again. He says he misses her, and that he messed up, but how can that be true when whenever his friends come into sight, he pretends he doesn't know her?
Anthony knows he made a huge mistake. He's regretted leaving Carmen standing there, looking abandoned since 6th grade. But he never could figure out how to make it up to her and earn her trust again even though he knows he doesn't deserve it. Now, six years later, he finally came up with an idea that might work. Try to be her friend again, fall back into their old routine. But there's a problem: Carmen is reluctant to let him near her again, pushing him away whenever he thinks he might be close to forgiven.
Can Anthony ever convince Carmen that he's for real and that he's truly sorry? Will Carmen ever be able to trust Anthony again?
