Are You The Now or Never Kind?

.07

The whole time during lunch with Eric, I could feel my phone vibrate in my front pocket, and I fought the urge to turn around. Deep down I knew it was Gabe, I was just glad my phone was on vibrate.

Eric seemed to not notice anything and babble on the whole time. I tried hard to focus on him, but the vibration started to get annoying. But sooner than I thought we were both leaving the diner. His arm wrapped around my waist as we walked passed Gabe's table. I tried my hardest not to glance at him.

"Thank you." I finally said once we were back on the streets of New York.

"No problem." His arm was still wrapped around me and it seemed like it would stay there to we got to my apartment.

The walk again was filled with him talking but I didn't seem to mind this. Everything he said made me smile, and forget about Gabe.

When we arrived to my apartment building we stopped in front of it and just looked at each other.

"So I guess I'll see you tomorrow then." I said with a sigh.

"Tomorrow?"

"Coffee shop. Please don't spit in my tea." I said with a smile.

"I wouldn't, because you wouldn't go out with me again."

"You're right."

"Does that mean you're planning on going out with me again?"

"Depends. See ya Eric." I gave him a smile and started to head into the apartment building.

"You're going to come to the shop tomorrow right?!" I heard Eric yell from behind me.

I just waved my hand carelessly as I entered the lobby. A boy and a girl were playing with cars on the carpet floor, as what seemed to be their parents, were talking to the person at the desk. I offered a smile to the boy as he car hit my in the foot. I picked it up and handed it to him.

"I'm so sorry." He muttered with wide eyes.

"Don't worry." I stood up and looked over at his parents who were staring at us. As I was making my way to my apartment, I couldn't wait to get into my house to check my phone.

A part of me kept saying that I was overreacting and it couldn't be all from Gabe, but another part of me knew that it was all Gabe.

The second part was right.

I had just four text messages from an unknown number.

Message one.
Hey Pazz the Spazz. whos your date?

Message two.
yo boo is totally glaring at me.

Message three.
Is he your boyfriend?

Message four.
You better call me when you're off your date.

I fought back a smile as I unlocked my door to my apartment. I threw my keys to my left but I didn't hear them hit the floor. I looked over and remembered that I had placed a small table their that was now holding my keys. I looked around and smiled at my apartment. It seemed cozy to me. I sat down on my couch and pulled off my shoes and let out a sigh. I looked at my phone and pressed the button that said call back.

It only rang three times before Gabe's voice filled my ear.

"M'lady, how are you this afternoon." I smiled at how natural he was. It didn't seem like we had only known each other for a night.

"Things are swimmingly, good sir." I let out a laugh and I could hear his deep chuckle on the other line.

"I'm glad I bumped into you." He sighed.

"Ditto." It was silent for awhile, but it didn't to seem to bother either of us.

"Can I tell you something?"

"Of course." I smiled into the phone as I tried to picture what he was doing right now.

"I've been going back to the bar we met at, for awhile. Searching for you." My smile grew wider as each word left his mouth. I had to pull the phone away from me as I shared a silent freak out with myself. When I brought the phone back I tried to act calm.

"Really?"

"And I'm not going to lie, I was jealous when I saw you with that guy."

"I just met him today."

"Is this how you pick up all your guys?" He chuckled after he asked that. It just then dawned on me that I had lied to Eric. I had told him that I never acted like that with anyone else, but it was a lie. I had been the same way with Gabe. Maybe a little more intense with Gabe then Eric, but all the same.

"No." I said shaking my head.

"Good, because I would feel hurt. I like being the only one."

"Well, you are the only one."

"Does this mean I have the honor of seeing your apartment?"

"If you come over today, yes."

"What's the address?"

" I live in the Marca. Apartment 473A."

"Okay, I can be there in twenty minutes."

"Try to make it fifteen."
