The Left Side of Everywhere

two;

My alarm clock blared early the next morning, probably five thirty or so. I wanted to catch Kellin before the went off to breakfast because God knows they stay out until lunch and then go eat again. I reached over, feeling around for my phone on my nightstand, picking it up once it was securely in my hand. I pounded in his number and pressed the phone against my ear, smiling lazily as Sammy jumped up in the bed with me.

“Good morning, good morning, to you!” Kellin sang obnoxiously, making me pull a face as I sat up.

“Ugh, you’re too peppy in the morning, Quinn.” I grumbled as I rolled out of bed, pulling my yellow collared shirt and khakis out of the closet, throwing them on my bed.

“Well, when you’re on your way to see your best friend, you’ve got nothing but peppiness.”

All of the drowsiness left me as soon as he finished his sentence.

“You’re coming home?!”

“Well duh. What fun would it be if I told you I was coming home last night? It’s more of a surprise when I tell you as soon as you’re up. It gives you something to look forward to. Are you still at the customer service place?”

“For the computers? Yup. I’ve gotta leave out at seven.”

Kellin groaned from the other line, making me smile even wider. I started the shower up and began stripping out of my pajamas.

“Alright, well, I’ll let you go, Kelly. I’ll shoot you a text during my lunch break and hopefully you’ll be closer.”

“Sounds like a plan. Love you, Mickey Mouse.”

“Love you too, Kelly.”

I hung up the phone and tossed it onto my bed before closing the bathroom door and stepping in, thinking all about when Kellin got in. We could play Xbox next to each other again, both in our pajamas and being loud and obnoxious like old times. Back before he was famous and in a band. Hell, back when we were both little kids growing up in Florida. Our parents were best friends in college, automatically forcing Kellin and I into a friendship before we had our own opinions. But it must’ve been fate that actually kept our bond strong, not just our parents’ always watching us and telling us to forgive each other if we got into some sort of disagreement.

Hurriedly, I stepped into the shower and washed up, hair and all, though I wasn’t really in the mood for doing my hair once more. The process was long enough, with the blow drying and endless straightening routine that followed as a consequence to cleanliness. After I finished, I wrapped myself in my familiar warm navy blue towel, tucking it underneath my arms as I walked into my room to slip my underwear on. I padded back into the bathroom and sighed, grabbing my blow dryer to begin the ruthless hair routine.

if I would've added the whole chapter, it would've been huge.
