I'm No Superhero
Got A Name?
“He saying anything to you,” spat Tony from his iron suit. She was in no mood to deal with his smartass but had no choice as she had been captured by them. Cora had been standing in the crowd away from Loki but watching his every move. It wasn’t long before she was captured by Tony and put on the plane. It was more than clear that he didn’t trust her being so close to Loki to begin with. Cora was ignoring the man in the suit as best as she could right now. It wasn’t that she hated him, it was just that he annoyed her. “Cora I know you can hear me, so talk.” It wasn’t a suggestion it was an order, one she didn’t want to take.
Her eyes were on Loki as they flew. Nothing was being said at the moment, not even thought wise, it had been talked about before what he wanted. She wasn’t going to bail on him yet, get to headquarters and then she would. Just a matter of time. “And if he was?” Her gaze moved towards Tony before going back to Loki. “Why would I tell you?” There was a coldness in her voice as she talked. The coldness was there because she had just lost the person she thought she knew. Though right now bailing on Loki didn’t seem to be something she wanted to do just from Tony’s attitude. “If you must know he is saying things about you. Nothing good either.”
It was moments after that thunder was heard in the sky. If it wasn’t for the cuffs that were on her wrists she would have dodged the oncoming person. Tugging at the cuffs she was no help to Loki who was swept away. It was shortly after that Tony was gone after the man. “Keep an eye on this young woman,” the voice of Captain America rang out to the copilot.
“That is his brother, Thor.” It was the last thing she said the rest of the way to the headquarters.
Walking with Tony was quick and painful. He had her wrists behind her back pushing at her. Loki got to walk in with guards around him. She got to rush past him and shoved down in a chair. Her black hair fell in her face but she didn’t bother to move it. However the glare she was giving the man in the iron suit was beyond clear at this point. He made no move other than sitting down in front of her, watching her. They sat there glaring at each other till someone else walked into the room. Cora made no move to look up at the other person but did brush the hair out of her eyes.
Looking up she saw the one man she didn’t want to deal with right now. Fury. It wasn’t that she knew he would be pissed at her but it was the fact that she hadn’t told him. “Look at me.” The order ran clear. Shifting her blue eyes up to him she saw just a hint of a smile. “She isn’t under his control.”
“Barton is though still.” Leaning back in her chair she looked up at Fury. “He is still out there too. What he was told he will do. I was never under his control.”
“Stay here or around the area.”
She nodded as he left. Thankfully Tony left the room to get out of his suit. Of course she wasn’t left in the room by herself, no that would have been a bad idea. Cora spun around in her chair to see Steve or better know as Captain America. His outfit had changed, he seemed a little more relaxed but that didn’t change who he was. His eyes looked her over before meeting her blue eyes once more. “What does he want?” The words came out smoothly as he sat down beside her. Spinning her chair around Cora now sat in front of him. “You seem to know him.”
“He wants world domination Captain,” she sighed. No she didn’t know him, she knew about him. Cora had only just scratched the surface of who Loki was. “What I know is he is a heartless killer. I don’t think he cares who he kills if it gets him what he wants.”
Putting her feet up on his lap she felt comfortable for once. He didn’t seem to be bothered by it, maybe he even liked it. It was hard to tell as he was thinking about other things. He placed a hand on her legs before looking over at her. “What is the connection between you two?”
Shifting in her chair she sighed. “He and I share a similar past. Grew up in a brother’s shadow.” She explained to the man. “Other than that nothing. Why?”
“You two seemed to have something else going on.” Steve leaned back in his chair while looking well past her. “It isn’t my place but it seems to be a love of some sort.”
This made Cora giggle a little. No there was no love between the two. Maybe” a sexual attraction but that was about it. Honestly though, if Loki was just walking down the street what woman wouldn’t want to jump his bones? Exactly. “No Captain, there is nothing. If you wanted something you’d ask what is between Barton and myself.”
“Are you together, because I’m pretty sure he was with someone else.”
“Not exactly.” She knew who he was talking about but she didn’t think they were together at all. “Now tell me Sir, are you just here to get out of me what Loki wants? Or find out how I fit in here?”
“Both.”
“Well I’m a human experiment and Loki wants world domination. I’ve said the latter before.” She sighed a little while taking her legs off of the other man. Standing she stretched a little cracking her back. “Any other questions?”
“Two.” He stood and looked her over once more. There was nothing too special about Cora from just looking at her. “What can you do? And what is your name?”
“You’ll see what I can do later, keep an eye on where they are holding Loki, you may see something cool.” The next question threw her a little. She didn’t really have a name right now. It was just Cora. “I don’t have one. If you think of one, let me know. Everyone here will just call me Cora.” She started to move out of the room before pausing and looking back at him. “I’ll be around here somewhere. Avoiding Tony for the most part.” Exiting she started to look for anyone else to talk to other than Tony or Loki at this point. Either one was not a good idea.
