Getting Ready

"Why are you putting so much make up on me? We're going to dinner, not a club." I whined as Emma continued to plaster make up onto my face.
"Babe, your brother is in One Direction, we're going to a nice restaurant, not a McDonalds drive through." Emma told me, rolling her eyes at me.

I usually loved it when Emma did my make up (she was an aspiring make up artist), but this time she was talking hours and my left arse cheek had gone numb.
I huffed at her answer before speaking.

"So...what's been going on with you recently?" I asked. "Broken any hearts?" Emma grinned at my question.
"Sadly, no. But I'm planning on changing that very soon." She told me.

I'd always made fun of the way that Emma went through boys like Kleenex, and in return, she'd make fun of my fiercely monogamous ways. It was just the way our friendship worked.

"Anyway, what's the game plan for tonight? Going to jump on Louis and snog him senseless, like I know you want to do?" She giggled. I glared at her.
"For the millionth time, Louis and I are friends, nothing more, nothing less!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah, and Albert Einstein was just a pretty face." She told me sarcastically. I shuddered.
"Okay,I'm going to pretend that what you just said wasn't wrong on about a billion different levels and ask why you're still going on about Louis and I. We've both agreed to be just friends." I told her.

"Uh, hello! We watched Friends With Benefits AND No Strings Attached together, so don't act clueless. The guy and the girl who sleep together but keep it casual ALWAYS end up together." She explained, giving me a duh! look.

"Except in those stories, which by the way aren't real, the girl hasn't been raped, or have a crazily protective older brother. Not to mention, I am not Mila Kunis or Natalie Portman, and Louis is not Justin Timberlake or Ashton Kutcher." I told her gently.

"You're right! You'd make a way better looking couple than both of them!" She exclaimed. I didn't answer, knowing that there was no way I was going to win this, because Emma had gone into full on crazy mode.

After a moment of silence in which we both cursed each other for being so blind, Emma finished my make up with a huge grin.
"There, the perfect look for you to go out there and get a guy." She told me. I merely glared at her before inspecting the look.

"This looks amazing. Now, excuse me while I try to get some feeling back into my bum." I told her, standing up from my chair and beginning to gallop around the room. The door opened on my second lap of the room and I heard someone begin to laugh.

"I really wish I'd filmed that." Harry said as I turned to glare.
"Why are you in my room Styles?" I asked, falling back onto my bed as I spoke.
"Liam told me to come get you, everybody's waiting out here. Why are you galloping round your room like an ugly horse?" He challenged, charming as ever. I nodded over at Emma, who looked unusually starstruck.

"She made me sit down in the same place for almost an hour whilst she did my make up." I told him. Emma was still standing there, face flushed, as Harry made his way towards her, his hand outstretched with a grin on his face.

"I'm Harry, you can call me Haz. It seems we both have the misfortune of knowing that thing over there." He spoke, gesturing towards me. Emma giggled, her voice high as she introduced herself.
"Emma Matthews."
I recognised the looks on both of their faces, and just hoped that neither of them would hurt the other.

"Right, as much as I enjoy being insulted and then ignored by you, I need to get changed so it's time for you to leave." I told Harry.
A moment later, he was gone and Emma was helping me to zip up the dress she'd insisted I wore.

"He is so much better looking in person, isn't he?" She asked. I gagged internally before answering.
"Hon, I'd answer you if Harry wasn't like my brother and I wasn't trying to focus on not throwing up right now." I promised. Emma grinned at me anyway before leading the way out of the room and towards the hallway where the boys were waiting.

"Guys, this is Em. Em, these are the guys." I told her quickly, knowing that she was fully aware of all of their names. Liam rolled his eyes at my lazy introduction, but before I could properly introduce everybody, Emma was swept up in a conversation with Harry.

After the niceties, (the boys complimenting both Emma and I, me insulting them in return), I asked where we were going.
"No way, I'm not telling you. You'll have to wait until we get there." Liam told me. "Anyway, let's get in the car. We'll open your presents later."
