People and Flowers
"Turn the game off Jack!" I yelled throughout the house. "We have to be in the car in ten minutes." I was scrambling looking for my dress shoes.
"I thought we had twenty!" Jack yelled, his voice seeping confusion. I found my dress shoes and pulled them on. I sighed thankfully. I walked into my bathroom and checked my hair in the mirror. I stared at myself once again in the mirror. This was really happening. I took a deep sigh and turned off the light to the medium sized blue bathroom. I ran downstairs to see all three of the boys dressed and ready. Me, being surprised at how fast Jack got ready.
"You ready?" Rian asked. I nodded, trying my hardest not to smile as big as I wanted too. We all walked out the door, me locking it behind us.
We piled into Zack's Escalde and drove to the venue. My palms began to get sweaty and I could feel my legs begin to shake. Zack looked over at me and chuckled.
"It'll be fine dude. Relax." I nodded, but still ignoring what he had just said. We arrived to the venue and we all made our way to the main room. My mother spotted me and ran towards me, a smile plastered on her face.
"Darling, you're here! It's here! Your big day!" She gushed, admiration shown through her eyes.
"Yeah mom, it's finally here." I rubbed my hands together, they just got more sweaty.
"You know, Tom would be so proud of you." She stated, tears coming to the brim of her eyes. I brought her into a hug and nodded.
"I know. He's looking after me though." She nodded and wiped her eyes before any tears fell.
"Look at me," She laughed, "crying already." She sniffled and spotted someone from across the room and ran for them.
"You'll do fine bro." Jack said putting a hand on my shoulder. I nodded.
"Just nervous, like most people probably are." I murmured. He gave me another pat on my shoulder before walking away.
"Alex!" A man called my name, walking fast towards me. "Showtime, come back here!" My heart started racing as I followed him into the hallway where I waited with the boys.
"Breathe man, you'll do fine." Rian said. The music started and my heart really started to race. I waited for my que before I started walking down the aisle behind my friends. Once I got to my place I looked around the place. I never noticed how beautiful it was. The flowers were perfect and just everything was. My eyes browsed the crowd. The lump in my throat got big when I caught eyes with her. She sat in the very back row, she wore a light pink dress with lace at the top, poofed out at the waist and white heels. I swallowed hard. How did she know where it was? I heard a loud cough and adverted my attention to the girl who stood across the room from me.
She was beautiful. Marissa gave me a small smile as she slowly walked towards me, her dress flowing against the ground. Her dad kissed her cheek and I shook hands with him as she made her way in her spot. Then the preacher spoke.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here in the sight of God, and in the face of this company, to join together this man and woman in holy matrimony." I smiled at Marissa as I blocked out the words of the preacher.
"You look beautiful." I told her. She instantly started blushing.
"I can't believe this is real." I breathed. Her eyes filled up with tears as she smiled. Embers image popped into my head. I squeezed my eyes to cut of the picture of her. I opened my eyes and it was gone. I sighed in relief.
"If any man can show just cause, why they may not lawfully be joined together, let him now speak, or else hereafter for ever hold his peace." He preacher stated. My eyes instantly adverted to Ember. She gave me a weak smiled as she stood up. My knees felt weak.
