Beyond All Time
Jaz and Immy were brought together when there was no one else.
A government authorized virus went horribly wrong, resulting in almost mass-genocide. People weren't people any more, they'd mutated, every single one an anomaly. There was no government left, and slowly, an evolved version of the original virus was killing anyone that hadn't died before. Only a handful of people were left.
In a world with no light you have to find a way, and sometimes an empty planet is the perfect place to find a family.
