Who Knew Then? (What We Know Now?)
Prologue
After five years of what can only be described as a "fairy-tale perfect" relationship, Jared and Kassidy are heading back to North Carolina for what could be a make-it-or-break-it year; Jared's contract with the Hurricanes is up, and it's only adding to his usual pre-season nerves and emotional roller coaster.
Kassidy has always been more than willing to do whatever it took to be there for Jared; he's the only man she's ever loved, and his love for her is just as strong. She was the only one who could console him after the draft, when he'd hoped to be a first-round pick like the rest of his brothers, as well as being told each year of his contract that he'd be spending it in the AHL.
So now when things seem to be falling down around their heads, what will they do?
