A Drabble A Day

Jacqueline: Spring Break

I was sitting on a beach chair reading the first day I met Sam. It was a few days before spring break officially started, my parents had taken me out early in order to extend our vacation in south Florida, not that I minded. We had rented the beach front ‘bungalow’ for the week, and I was out already enjoying the sunshine.

He decided to walk past that morning, carrying a bucket as he collected shells that washed up with the tide. I had been people watching the last few minutes, my book lay forgotten on my lap.

He noticed me, and I glanced away, but not quite quick enough. He gave me a wave and smile, which I blushed at before I could stop myself. I gave a wave back and he turned back to the ocean, laughing. That was the first time I met him.

The second time was much different.

I didn't feel like writing today, and I'm sure that's plainly obvious by what I've written too. All well.
