A Drabble A Day

Allison: Olympics

It was just my mom and me in the living room now, as my dad left to go do, as he referred to it, ‘manly things.’ As in, go read a book in his work room. My dad wasn’t the epitome of manliness you could say.

I didn’t mind though, the girl time with my mom was better now, as we watched and critiqued the Olympic ice skaters as they glided across the screen, judging in the privacy of our own home since we both really had no knowledge of the sport.

Okay, we were both mainly just talking about the costumes. How they matched the song, trying to guess the sexuality of the male skaters by said costumes, imagining ourselves gliding around in one of those fancy custom sparkly costumes.

Sure, we noticed the routines too. We sighed and booed when they fell, picking favorites and trying to understand all the numbers of the scores when they received them.

It was a perfect girl’s night.
