Riley: Only Child?
I wish I was an only child, but I’m not. My older brother has been in jail for three years and five months now. He just turned nineteen.
My parents have given up on him. They don’t call or send letters, which I’m pretty sure is the normal behavior for parents when separated from their only son. But they don’t, and now neither do I.
It was all hard on us a couple years ago when it happened, it had been crappy times for our family as well and no one was getting along well with one another. Arguments were becoming too common, instead of hardships bringing us closer they were tearing us apart.
Then he stole that car, and then accidentally killed that man. Now that really didn’t help are family’s relationship.
And now it was even worse, even I didn’t care about him.
So what was going to happen when he comes home in a month?
