A Drabble A Day

Madison: Spanish Proposal

“Madison?” I heard my name with a slight accent and turned around to see my friend Dylan on one knee in our Spanish class, holding up a piece of candy. “¿Quieres casarte conmigo?”

I burst out laughing. His accent, while mine wasn’t any better, had been terrible, his true ‘whiteness’ shining through.

“Lo siento,” I said still laughing. “But no thanks.” He sighed exaggeratedly.

“I thought that was a proposal you could never turn down too.” He unwrapped the candy. “At least this is now mine.”

I stuck my tongue out at him, and noticed my other friend Allison giggling at both of our immaturity.

“I had to retaliate.” I whispered to her, leaning over the empty space so Dylan had no chance of hearing. I gave him a glare.

She peeked at him then held up a hand to cover her response from him. “I’d have just accepted.”

Not my best, but not too bad I hope. And I'm not too sure about the translations, so feel free to correct me.
