Lucy and Sam met in the summer, and that should have been it. They shouldn't have spent time with each other following that day. They shouldn't have because then, it would have made absolutely no impact on Lucy's life when Sam left.

Dear Sam,
Hi. I'm not sure why I'm doing this. I probably shouldn't be. Writing can help people feel better though, can't it? Isn't that why a lot of people do it? Obviously, I mean, why else would people keep journals? This isn't really a journal, though. Considering I'm writing them to you. I'm not sure if I'll let you read them. Maybe at some point. Who knows. You'll have to come back and find out.
