Shaking Chill

Alone

I sit alone
With my dinner
Eyes are burning into my skull
My gaze is locked onto my plate
The waitress feels sorry for me
I am alone
I eat alone
I live alone
I go home
I sit in my bed
Everything is dirty and so am I
I lay on my side and it is cold
You liked sleeping in the cold
I hug my self under the sheets
You used to hug me like this
My chest throbs, the tears sting
It is pitch black, a siren goes off in the distance
I close my eyes anyway
I squeeze them shut
Suddenly you are with me
