Obedience

Shaking

She had looked up at the supposed god in front of her, in front of them, the kneeling crowd of terrified people. He certainly had the look of a god, he had the presence of a god, but did that make him a god? She didn't know, but she was definitely aware of what his presence did to her. He commanded them to kneel, and she'd been the first to obey; she'd kneeled, wide-eyed, in awe of the god in front of her, and he had noticed, looked right at her, a smirk spreading wide on his face.

Loki spoke, and she had listened, wanting to hear the words he spoke, wanting to hear his voice, but then someone stood up; her brain stopped short, knowing something was wrong, that she shouldn't just stay there, but she couldn't move. Even after the fight had ended and he was being dragged off, she'd just knelt there, watching him, and he was watching her, smirking at her obedience, and she hadn't moved until long after they'd gone, the area empty of anyone else as she stood, trying, failing to shake the feeling of sheer power he'd left.

Toni Stark had been shaken to the core, and she didn't know how to make her limbs stop trembling.
