Sweet Temptations

Finally Meeting At Last

Ava's flight lasted exactly two hours. It was peaceful, except for the kids in the back who wouldn't stop screaming. The flight attendant told them to be quiet eventually. When Ava landed at Heathrow Airport, she went straight to luggage to reclaim her belongings then made her way to the front entrance to wait for whoever was picking her up. Ava looked around to see if she could find a familiar face; she saw nobody there. Disappointment set.

Back at the house in Cobham, Olalla was finishing off tidying the house. Luckily the babysitter had offered to take the kids out while she could prepare things for their new arrival. At first, she wasn't happy about the Ava girl coming to stay with her and Fernando. She thought it would only cause trouble but Fernando's parents were extremely persuasive on the idea so she had no choice. Finishing the last bit off in the dining room, Olalla heard the front door open. Thinking that it was the babysitter back with Nora and Leo, she was shocked to find Fernando there instead.

“What are you doing here?” Olalla asked. Her thick Spanish accent stood out in the room. Fernando gave her a questioning look before placing his car keys on the side table beside him.

“I've just come back from being with the guys. I told you earlier where I'd be.” Fernando answered back.

“You were supposed to pick up the girl.”

“Who, Ava? She doesn't arrive till tomorrow.”

“Fernando, Ella voló abajo hoy.” Olalla demanded. Fernando looked back at his wife as if he'd seen a ghost. For a second he hesitated and she gave her husband a look of disbelief.

“You forgot didn't you? Unbelievable!” Anger now consumed her body and Fernando was now starting to get pissed himself.

“I forgot yes all right I admit, but things have been heck tick lately-.”

“Like you coming home late from being out with your friends or the fact that I never seem to see you any more? Do I need to remind you- oh wait, even better, should I hand you a list instead?” Olalla barked.

“No tengo tiempo para esto.” Fernando looked at his wife and shook his head. He collected the keys off the table before turning round and leaving. He left the front door with a slam. Olalla watched him leave and soon regretted shouting at him. “What is happening to us?” She thought. Complete silence surrounded the house.

Meanwhile, Ava was sat in the waiting area sipping her coffee. It had been an hour and a half since she arrived in London and there was still no sign of anyone. One of the security guys had been watching her and he was getting quite curious as to why she hadn't left the airport yet. He'd been eyeing her closely and noticed she wasn't very old. Ava felt uncomfortable. She could feel someone watching her and when she looked up, a security man was walking straight towards her.

“Miss, are you OK?” the man asked to then Ava gave him a quick nod.

“I'm waiting for someone. They should be here soon.” Ava replied before muttering a quiet “I hope.”

On the other end of the airport, Fernando was frantically looking for the girl. He couldn't see her anywhere. If he didn't find her soon, Flori would sure murder him. Panic ran through Fernando's body and a concerned look appeared on his face. A few people around glanced and noticed the footballer but as he seemed to be in a rush, they decided to respect his privacy. Fernando made his way over to the help desk and asked if they'd seen a girl in her twenties who arrived earlier that day. The woman in front of him was stunned and she couldn't contain the grin off her face. She was about to ask for his autograph when she noticed one of the security guys and a young woman heading her way.

“You mean her?” the woman pointed to Ava who was now standing behind Fernando; he turned round to come face to face with her and when their eyes met each others, Ava felt an odd feeling run through her body. The smile on Fernando's face was comforting and reassuring. He quickly took her in for a quick hug which she kindly returned. Ava felt safe and she knew she could trust him. Fernando let go and their eyes met once more.

Israel was right. The way he spoke about Ava was unbelievable. She was truly captivating. Fernando had been nervous about meeting Ava. He also knew it was wrong to feel this way especially since he's married. Fernando scanned her body over. Ava was short compared to him. He noticed she had dark green eyes and medium length blonde hair. She had a petite frame, a beautiful figure for a 20 year old. Fernando had to admit, she was attractive.

"Ava right? It's a pleasure to finally meet you." Fernando greeted. His deep Spanish accent standing out. It almost made Ava swoon.

"Likewise."

"Lo siento por llegar tarde," he apologized.

"Esta bien."

Fernando gave her a smirk before kindly offering to carry her bags. She promptly declined but he insisted. They both made their way out of the airport and Fernando placed Ava's bags into the back of the trunk. He started the Audi and swiftly drove them back to the house. Fernando surely hoped Olalla was in a good mood by the time he got there.

I apologize for this chapter if it seems abit boring. The story will pick up shortly I promise :) I just want Ava to settle in first, get her to learn a bit about Fernando and then hopefully the sparks will fly. I want this story to stretch out as much as possible instead of having them falling in love straight away.

Translations: “Fernando, Ella voló abajo hoy.” (Fernando, she flew down today)
“No tengo tiempo para esto.”(I don't have time for this)
"Lo siento por llegar tarde." (I'm sorry for arriving late)
"Esta bien." (It's fine)
