Baby I'll Be Your Frankenstine

Gerard dochi?

My brother, Frankie, is playing with the studded belt on his pants and staring aimlessly into the Misfits posters in his room.

"Frankie?"

He turns around.

"Sky?"

"Uh...I-I'm not sure how to ask this, but...where's Gee?" I ask confused.

He looks at me, his eyes not wanting to tell me.

"Come on Frankie, please tell me!" I beg.

'Sky, you're way too young to understand what's going on with Gee," He sighs.

"Come on!" I whine.

"OK," he lowers his voice. "I'll tell you."

"OK," I say, popping a squat on his bed.

"Well, you know how Gee usually has bandages on himself, and he is almost always drunk, or high?" He asks.

I nod.

"His dad, well, he, uh, he used to beat him," IHe says.

I look at him.

"Beat him?" I say shocked.

He nods.

"..But not anymore?"

"No, his dad, he's dead, Sky, that's why he seems so withdrawn," He whispers.

"Where is he now?" I ask.

"The..hospital," He says.

"Why?" I ask suddenly

"He had a siezure, because of alcohol withdrawl," He says.

I walk out of the room and leave my brother in peace.

Frank's POV

I can't believe I told Sky about Gee! He is so going to flip.

The phone rings.

'Hello?" I say into the reciever.

"Hello, this is Deniese, I am one of Gerard Way's nurses. He seems stable enough, he won't hurt himself anymore. Ah, well on to why the heck I called you, he was wondering if you could come over to the hospital," The voice on the other end said.

"OK," I say, my voice cracking.

I scribble a note on the counter that says:

Mom,

I'm going out for a few hours, make sure Sky dosen't burn the house down. I love you.

Love,

Frankie.

I grab my jacket and head out to my car.

I drive for about an hour and arrive at the hospital, Gee's third home. (He has mine, his, now that his dad is gone, and of course...the hosptail).

I walk to the mental ward and head to room 465.

"Gee?" I whipser.

He opens his eyes.

"F...Frankie!?" He gasps. Tears well up in his eyes.

'Gee," I smile.

"F..Frankie..I don't wanna be here!" He sobs.

'Shh, Gee, you need to get better, and this is the place to go," I whisper, stroking his messy black hair.

"..But Frankie, they have me hooked up to blood, medicine, and it 's tearing me apart!"

A woman walks in.

"Hi Frank."

It's the lady that was on the phone with me.

"Deniese!" Gee smiles.

"Hi, Gerard," She smiles.

She puts the hot pink laptop on Gee's lap.

I giggle. He shoots me an angry look.

"You're using...a pink laptop!?" I ask, cracking up laughing.

"Shut up!" He snaps.

"Hang on Frankie, there's a song I want you to hear," He says, proping open the laptop and clicking on "Slow Burn" by Atreyu.

The song starts with a piano. I listen intensively, nodding my head to the drum beat.

Gee is tapping his fingers on the railing on his bed. The song finishes and Gee is staring at the screen.

"Hello, earth to Gee! Anybody home?" I ask, waving my hand in his face.

"Huh? Nani?"

He blinks a few times, then gives Deniese the laptop and pulls the covers toward his cold body.

"My head hurts, and I'm bored," He mumbles.

"Hey! Mr. Twig!" Deniese calls. "It's almost noon! Are you going to eat anything, or will I have to force you to group therapy today?!"

"Bite me!" Gerard snaps, flicking her off.

"Mark the spot and how hard!" She sneers.

"Fine, just give me coffee and toast," He sighs.

She leaves and I turn to Gee.

"What's group therapy?" I ask.

"It's, uh, it's when all the teens in the mental ward go to the phycrieatic's office and we talk about what's going on and why we're here, it's boring," He explains.

"Hey Gerard!" Deniese calls. "I brought two cups of cofee and some toast, is that OK?"

"Why two cups?" He asks.

"I thought Frank would like one," She says, handing me the coffee.

"Thank you," I say as I take the cup from her hands.

"Hey, Deniese, can Frankie come to group therapy today?" Gee asks.

"Sure, why not? I don't see the harm in that," She says smiling.

*GROUP THERAPY*

"OK, everyone, why don't we tell eachother the high and low points of today?" The phycaiatrist asks.

"Well, I haven't been cutting for at least a month, so I think this is helping," A girl with jet black hair and red eyeshadow says.

"Excelent, Ruby. Now, how about you Gerard?"

He stares down at his fingers.

"My...my boyfriend Frankie is here, so I guess its a high point," Gee whispers.

*Time elapse*

I am out of therapy with Gee about an hour later and he is sitting on his bed, staring out at the Jersey skyline. His eyelidsdroop and he falls on the covers fast asleep.

"Bye Gee, i'll visit you tomorrow," I whisper as I kiss his forehead.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I walk into the door of my house, its around 6:30 and Mom is cooking dinner.

"Hi Frank," She greets me.

"Hi Mom," I reply.

"Hey, Frankie! Come here for a sec!" Sky calls.

I race to her black painted room.

"Hey, how was being wiht Gee?"

"It went well,' I reply. "We had group therapy."

"He has a bright pink laptop!" I burst out laughing.

"No way!" Sky cracks up. "I'm never going to let him live that down!"

We head downstairs for dinner, and then after that Sky puts in Charlie and teh Chocolate Factory, its a Tim Burton film. Tim Burton rocks!

The movie ends at about `10:30 and we all head for bed. I hope Gee liked my visit.
