The Adventures of My Journey to Study Abroad!

I woke up to the sound of my phone vibrating "Hello?" I sleepily mumbled into the phone. "OH MY GOD! TODAY IS THE DAY! ARE YOU EXCITED BECAUSE I AM! AHHHHHHH!" Woah, that sure did wake me up, "Good morning to you too Katerina haha." I looked over at the clock and saw that it was 10:30 "Ugh, it's too early to be up babe! Why are you up so early?" Knowing Kat, she probably couldn't sleep from how excited she was, "I couldn't sleep! Too excited!" I knew it. "Hey I'll call you later, I'm gonna get ready and we can go out for breakfast before we spend time with our families yeah?" I got up and starting getting my stuff together to go shower, "Alright Lee talk to you later! Bye!"

After getting out of the shower,I brushed my hair and let it air dry. I went into my closet and looked for something to wear and got changed into this. Once I was content with my hair and makeup I called Kat and told her I was on my way to pick her up. I told my parent I would be back a littler later and went out the door. I headed into my car. Yes Kat and I have the same car but that's only because we're both in love with Minis. I quickly sent a text to Kat and let her know I was on my way over to her house. On the way over I listen to Ed Sheeran's "+" and sang to every single song. I got to Kat's house and she was sitting on her porch all ready to go, "Where do you wanna eat?" I asked her and she put her finger on her chin thinking about it. "Let's go to Denny's?" I laughed and put the car in reverse as we headed to the restaurant. "Oh my God! Lego House! Shhhhhh!" I laughed as she told me to be quiet when I hadn't even spoken in the first place and she started to sing along to the song.

We got to the restaurant, got out the car, and walked in the front door. We were greeted by a lady who looked about 25, "Table for two?" we nodded and got seated in our booth. She told us she would be right back to take our orders and gave us a minute to look at the menu. I hungrily looked at all the options but knew what i was going to get already "MAN I'M STARVED!" Katerina laughed at me and said "Aren't you always?" I glared at her but I knew it was true, I was always eating. The lady came back and took our orders, Kat ordered a french toast slam with a smoothie and I ordered an original grand slam with a cup of hot chocolate.

While waiting for our food we make a list of all the things we needed to buy before going on our trip. We made note to go to Target to buy all the stuff so we'd be prepared. About 20 minutes later the lady came back with our food and drinks, "Let me know if you ladies need anything else okay?" we thanked her and started digging in. We finished our food and headed to Target, I have a love/hate relationship with Target. I always go there with a certain amount of things I need to buy and I end up buying things I don't really need and regret it later. We went into Target and bought a bunch of things like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. We bought new swimsuits and a few other things. We headed to the electronics section and I saw the camera of my dreams and bought it, my parents had given me the money for it so i could document my trip with Kat. Kat ended up buying an iPod and a bunch of iTunes cards. we headed to the register and paid for our stuff, man we spent a lot of money! I dropped Kat off at her house and told her I would see her later and headed back to my house. I got home and expected everyone to be downstairs but I guess they went somewhere. Seeing as I had the house to myself I went back upstairs to my room and sat at the bench in front of my black grand piano and lightly ran my hands across the keys. I started playing the intro to The Fray's "How to Save A Life", I couldn't help it as I started to sing the lyrics:

I finished playing and realized I was crying for some reason, I shook it off and went to fixed my makeup. I heard sounds downstairs and found my family in the living room all ready to go somewhere, "Hey guys! So where are we going?" my parents looked at each other and smiled, " We know how long you've been wanting to go the aquarium and we haven't taken you so we're going right now!" I broke out in the biggest of smiles and ran to the car all ready to go. "Let's go, let's go, let's go!" You have no idea, I LOVE the aquariums, sea life if just so amazing and beautiful. We spent the day at the aquarium and took pictures, petted sea animals and visited the dolphins. The end of the day was nearing so we headed back home, I got all of my stuff and we all headed over to Kat's house. Our families were meeting there and we were driving to the airport together. Katerina's older sister had driven from college to see her leave and her baby brother was teetering around the house learning how to walk, he was so cute!

We were currently at the airport waiting for our airplane to take off, I was going with Kat to London then I was taking a plane to Ireland by myself. I was nervous to go on a plane by myself, sure I went on a plane by myself when I was younger when I went to visit family in Mexico but I knew the area. Kat reassured me that I would be fine. A man's voice came over the over-com "Flight from Los Angeles to London is now boarding", we looked at each other and over to our families who were tearing up. We got up and hugged all of them and said our goodbyes. Kat and I were crying even though we told ourselves we wouldn't, oh well haha. We got our luggage and headed to the gate and boarded the plane, we found our seats and got comfortable. "Are you ready for this Kat?" she looked at me and I saw a flash of worry pass through her eyes, "Yeah, let's do this!" She let out a yawn and said "But for now I'm going to sleep, good night Lee." I waited for her to fall asleep and snapped a few photos of her sleeping for laughs later. I plugged my ear buds into my ear and drifted off to Maroon 5.
