Halcyon

I met her two weeks before summer ended. I loved her every summer since.

Her smiles were like the whisper of a secret, buried deep under the covers, with the light of the moon both ethereal and beautiful. Her lips were like the first sip of cocoa on a Winter's morning; a warmth that dribbled down your throat and consumed you. I loved her because her shampoo smelled like roses and honey and because she made me smile when I was miserable inside. I loved her because she was fragile like a glass... but infinitely stronger and brighter than anything I'd seen.

She was Adena, my little rose, my halcyon lover. She had secrets but in truth she was perfect.
