Only You Give Me That Feeling

I sighed as I pulled my cell phone out and checked the time; we were already two hours away from Garden City. I stoop up and walked straight to the bunk area, I could hear Zacky and Johnny snoring as well as Jimmy spluttering. I laughed as I walked straight to Stephanie’s bunk and pulled the curtain open. I smiled when I saw her face, she looked like an angel. Not even the tear stains on her face could make her look less beautiful.
I slid into her bunk and rested my head on my arm; I rubbed her cheek gently before she slowly woke up. “I'm sorry, I didn’t meant to wake you up” I whispered
“It’s okay. What’s wrong?” She said still asleep
“Nothing, I just wanted to see you”
“Oh” she said as she took a deep breath, her eyes were still puffy from all the crying she did.
“You have no idea what you mean to me” I smiled, she opened her eyes and weakly smiled as she stared at me “You know that I’ll always be here for you, don’t you?” She nodded and smiled. That smile I loved so much, I stared at her for who know how long, lost in her beautiful shiny eyes.
“Brian?” She said. I shook lightly my head.
“Sorry I spaced out” I said and stared at her again “I don’t want you to feel that way away, Steph. I just want to wrap you up in a bubble wrap and keep you save and happy for the rest of our lives” I stated making her laugh loudly.
“Thank you, Bri. It’s a bit extreme, but thank you” she laughed
“All I want you to know is that I will always be there for you” I said as she stared at me with teary eyes.
“Thank you, Bri” She said and yawned
“Sleep tight, princess” I said slowly moving out of her bunk
“Bri”
“Yeah?”
“Can you stay with me?”
“Sure” I said with a smile on my face. I stopped what I was doing and made myself comfortable again. She started moving closer to me and slid into my arms.
“Stefi”
“Yeah”
“What was she like?”
“Like me” she said smiling
“You know what I mean”
“I don’t know” she shrugged “She was the smart and quiet girl that never did anything wrong. She was everything I wasn’t” she sighed “Perfect”
“You are perfect” I stated and smiled widely "You are more than perfect" I said and she blushed "I love it when you blush" I laughed
"Oh shut up" she smiled
“Were you really that alike, Stefi?”
“Twins my ass” she laughed quietly “the only thing we had in common was the fact that we were both girls”
“Oh c’mon”
“Really, I mean we may have looked the same, but that’s it. She was the good twin, and I’m the messy and bad one, she even said, quoted “You're one of those girls that when they wake up, the devil says 'oh crap'" she laughed
“But, you were close, weren’t you?”
“yeah, kind of, we were sisters, I knew everything about her, she knew everything about me, even though we didn't hang out that much, you know what I mean?” she asked and I nodded. I let out a sighed and smiled when she rested her head on my chest
“And my brother, he was like superman” I smiled “He was smart, nice, he was a really great guy, he was my best friend. I loved him to death” I stared at her and kissed the tip of her nose.
“Don’t worry Stefi, you’ll be fine”
“Yeah, you’re probably right” she said and took a deep breath
“I know I am, I am me” I said grinning
“You are so cocky” she smiled

“Why did you do it?” I asked after a couple of minutes. She just looked up at me
“Do what?”
“Tried to kill yourself” I said and she looked away
“I just… I don’t know” she sighed
“What did you do?” I asked and she shrugged
“I don’t want to talk about it, Brian”
“Please” I pleaded and she sighed “what happened?”
“I didn’t have the balls to cut myself, so I took a bunch of sleeping pills”
“Why did you do it?” I asked again
“I don’t know, I was young, stupid and lost control” she sighed “I didn’t know what else to do” she said. I took her hand and kissed her forehead
“Please, don’t do it again”
“What makes you think I’ll do it again?”
“I don’t know. Just don’t, I don’t know what’d I do if you try it again” I said and she smiled
“Don’t worry, I won’t”
“Promise?”
“I promise” she said. “Can I ask you something?” she said after a few minutes of silence
“Yeah”
“Will you go with me when we get back, please? I don’t want go by myself” she said looking straight into my eyes
“Yeah. Anything for you, sweetheart” I said making her smile wider “sleep tight”

"Bri?" She said closing her eyes
"Yeah?"
"What’d happen If I ran away again?" she asked. I opened my eyes and stared at her confused.
"I’d come after you" I said and kissed her forehead "I'd go anywhere to find you. I would look for you and I wouldn't stop searching"
"Why?"
"Because it’s you we’re talking about" I said as she weakly smiled and fell asleep

I stared at her face and sighed as I closed my eyes ‘Finally I know why she looked so sad, why every time I looked at her eyes they looked broken. I thought to myself before I fell asleep
