Letters to Papa
Rudy's Tour
Dear Papa-
Rudy went on his Immersion Tour today. He was grouped with Jan Hovestadt, Amalie Bachmeier, Andreas Dresner, and Irmtraud Gloekner. He did terribly. He came home with his face all bruised and he was breathing hard and he crouched down and buried his head in his hands and I asked him what was wrong and he whispered "I failed. I failed the exam. And Frau Steiner is cross at me. And some English boys beat me up and called me a piece of German scum and when I got back Arthur Berg and Kurt Meminger called me Jewish scum and they beat me up too." His shoulders were shaking and he was crying and crying and I didn't know what to do.
This world is so cruel, Papa.
I don't understand why people can't just be nice to each other.
Everyone is so cruel.
