After the battle in New York, nearly destroying Stark Tower, the Avengers split up. Each going off on their own adventures. In that time the Tower was restored and renamed to be the Avengers Tower. And then, slowly, the Avengers returned to the tower. Except Thor who remained in his own Realm.

Every alarm in the Tower was going off. The Avengers had been seated on Tony's floor, simply having a friendly dinner after a day of work and training. Tony shot up out of his chair and shouted at JARVIS to tell him what was happening.
"What is it JARVIS?" Tony asked pulling up all the cameras set up in the tower.
"I don't know, sir. It's moving too quickly for me to see," the computer replied.
Tony was about to tell the others to suit up for whatever had entered the tower when the lights went out and the elevator doors were ripped open. All was silent as the Avengers marveled at who stood in the elevator. Tony's mouth dropped open. "Emily?"
She smirked, showing her pointed K-9's. "Hello, Tony."
