L'Appel du Vide

Liv stood at the top of the rollercoaster, if she would take one step she would fall down to the ground and no one but I would know until morning when the park would open and children and their families would find her. "Have you ever thought about jumping?" she asked. "I mean, not that I ever - oh, maybe I would, really," she looked down, over the edge to the ground so far away, "but there's this... this French phrase: l'appel du vide. It literally translates to call of the void. It's like, this urge to jump from high places just to know what would happen. I mean, you know what would happen: death, but you just want to know what it would feel like or if you would really die. I think that's what love's like."
