The Great Escape

Mind Blowing

"Holly"

The thoughts whirling in my head wouldn’t stop. Whenever I tried to open my eyes, all I could see was the white bandages that covered them. My head hurt and I couldn’t decipher my thoughts from the random others. It was only minutes before I heard the thoughts from Bailee whenever she heard a sound that I myself couldn’t hear. I felt the pain racking her mind and I almost cried from hearing her screaming thoughts.

I had no voice. Having a tube down my throat didn’t help me speak either. I wanted to ask questions, but I couldn’t do anything, let alone make a move. I felt numb with my body tightly bounded by these straps.

I couldn’t hear any voices through my ears. I didn’t understand why. I thought maybe it was my ears being bandaged up and for a while I thought it was because it thought I was deaf. It didn’t take me long to figure out what happened until slightly later.

I felt my bandages being unwrapped from my head. And when the bandages were gone, I quickly opened my eyes, looking around me. My head was tightly strapped, so I couldn’t move it, but I saw white coats standing around me. Three of them to be exact. Two males and one female. “Her head looks like it’s healing,” The female white coat said.

“Good, good,” said the older looking man in a white coat. I could see grays on the side of his head. He brought out a flashlight, shining it into my eyes. I blinked a few times, confused, “Her eyes are dilating, so she can probably see us now.”

The younger male white coat pried my already open mouth farther open, “Her teeth... they’re better too.”

He took the tube out. I started to cough, breathing in the fresh air. The air was stale with chemicals present, but I could barely taste them.

Finally, now we may be able to test her abilities. Her brain surgery went well. All that’s needed now is some recovery, then some training.

I heard that sudden thought from one of the doctors, though couldn’t tell which one said it. I licked my lips and tried to speak, but couldn’t. The older white coat pried my mouth open, shining down a flashlight, “Her voice box is healing too.”

Well, no freaking wonder I can’t talk, my voice box won’t move, I thought.

What… where am I?

I heard that a small distance away. I moved my eyes to the right, and saw a tube next to me. I saw a body, but I couldn’t see the face, but I saw long wavy red hair, and I knew exactly who it was.

Izzy.

Izzy! I screamed through my mind.

Huh? Wha- wait, what’s going on? Who’s screaming my name? Her mind erupted, going a million miles per hour.

Izzy, it’s me Holly, can you hear me?

I felt myself trying to move, and I did, trying to free my arms, but that was impossible.

“Put her down! She’s resisting us!” A white coat yelled.

Holly? I heard Izzy’s mind.

I couldn't answer back. My thoughts was corrupted from the needle they stabbed into my arm, causing my mind to black out.
