Status: I am currently redoing this story. I ended up not liking it. I am taking the chapters down, and going to be putting them back up again. Sorry for any inconveniences because of this.

Free Falling

Prolouge

"Heading to work," I yelled up the stairs at my sister, who was in her room reading. I didn't wait for a reply and headed for the front door of my parents house. I was lucky that they had let me move back in after I had turned my back on them. I wanted to live with "the love of my life", as I had thought almost two years ago. I turned my lip up in a snarl, closing the door behind me. Walked down the stone porch turning to my left, then made my way towards the community pool. There was a very convenient short cut there that would take me all the way across town to where I worked.

Sighing, I regrettably thought back to the night where my ex-fiancé had attempted to kick me out. He had gotten home from work at Kmart. He came into the living room where I was sitting on the couch staring off into space. I had put our two month old daughter down for the night and I was waiting for him to come home. I needed to talk to him about something, but I couldn't remember exactly what it was. Somehow, we started talking about one of my school friends, Travis.

All the sudden, my ex-fiancé, Nathaniel, accused me of being unfaithful. It took me a while to figure out how I was cheating on him. My friend, Travis, worked twelve hour shifts at a cheese factory, which was an hour away. He also didn't have a drivers license…he still doesn't and he's turning twenty one this week. I laughed a little as I walked past a small park that was only a few blocks from my parents’ house.

My thoughts wandered back towards that fateful night. I realized that I had mistaken what I had wanted. "You love him!" Nathaniel yelled at me, making me stand up, enraged.

"What do you mean 'I love him'? We have a child together! Besides I don't see how I could cheat on you! You don't even let me talk to my friends, let alone see them!" After I said this he started ranting about how I needed to call my parents to come pick me up. Apparently, what I was saying was total bull shit. I glanced at the VCR to check the time; it was after 11 o' clock at night.

"My parents are already in bed, they won't answer the phone," I snarled at him.

"Well, then I guess you'll be sitting outside and wait for them with your stuff." Nathaniel growled back.

This is where I became enraged and lost it. "It's the middle of September in the middle of the night! You're daughter is barely two months old, and you want her to sit out in the cold?"

"That was your own choice," He crossed his arms, looking at me with hatred.

"Know what?" I asked, feigning tiredness. "I'm too tired for this and I'm ready to pass out, I'm going to sleep."

I walked towards our bedroom, making him grab my arm. "Where do you think you're going?"

"To bed," I wrenched my arm from his grasp. walked to the bedroom, carefully laying down still hurting from the c-section.

Nathaniel stayed in the living room for about half an hour then walked into the bedroom. I was half asleep before he gently shook my arm. "Can I sleep with you?" he asked in a pathetic whinny voice.

"Go for it," I muttered, while going back to sleep.

I glanced up from my daydreaming to see I was at a chain link fence. I walked around it then followed a shallow dirt path which crossed railroad tracks. I looked both ways before crossing them, and then ran up the small hill to the other side of the shortcut.

Once I got to the other side, I turned to my right and started walking the rest of the way to work. My mind wandered back to the day after Nathaniel and my fight about me cheating on him.

The next day he insisted he wanted me to stay and that he was sorry. This decision only came after I had started packing my things.. Unfortunately, for some reason he had changed his mind and I started packing again. While I was packing he called his mom, who only lived a few blocks away from us. He hung up on her before she answered, making her call my cell phone while we were in the middle of another fight.

She ended up coming over, to my annoyance. It's not that I had anything against her but it seemed like she came over every day. She was always bringing us things that we didn't want. Granted baby clothes were always welcomed. What I didn't care for were clothes that came from a free clothes closet or clothes that a 10 year old would wear. Eventually she made it over to the house and was let in. I then became the bad guy because I was leaving her son. Oh how I despised that entire family then.

Finally, I had gotten fed up with her bickering and I yelled at her all the things her son had done to me. Which included him saying that, our daughter, Hazel wouldn't be getting her 2 month shots that day. It was my fault that she would get sick because of that. That's when his mother went on my side and told him he was going to help me get Hazel's shots. After awhile, we both were on better terms and we went to get my Hazel her shots.

Once Hazel's shots were done, Nathaniel wanted to go to a grocery store because everything was on sale. That's when Travis texted me, and brought the fight back into existence. I was told that I didn't love Nathaniel because I didn't tell him Travis and I had talked the night before. So, instead of going into the store, we went back to the house, where I called my mom. She was excited, to say the least, that I'd be coming home. But also concerned for me, because she thought Nathaniel was going to get violent with me. I assured her I was going to be fine and told her Nathaniel was insisting he take me home.

Coming out of my day dream once again I noticed I was at work. Sighing, I opened the door and walked up a flight of stairs. Then swiped my card so I could get into the main part of the building. Glancing to my right I saw the time clock stating that I had twenty minutes before I started. Damn, I walk fast, I thought to myself as I steered myself into the break room to sit down for a bit. I pulled out a DS that my boyfriend was lending me and started playing Pokémon Black.

After seventeen minutes had gone by I swiped in. Then went to my desk to log into the computer so I could start taking peoples calls. Oh yeah, I work in a call center. Funnest place on the Earth...not. Thankfully we weren't very busy and I was let off early. I then walked home. Where everything that wasn't currently fucked up in my life was going to change in the blink of an eye.

I get that this chapter is slow, but it's just here to get some small background information out. Hope that everyone will enjoy the rest of the story. It is a slow work in progress. I'm writing this in between parenting, two jobs, planning a wedding, buying a house, and the possible start up of my own small business. Let me know how you like it.

I decided to revamp this story. I am correcting chapters, then once I catch up I'll continue writing. This is a side project. I'm currently working on a story I want to attempt to publish so that gets my full attention currently. I'll be working on this in between writing my other story. Thanks for bearing with me!
