Deadly Diseases

Something Wicked This Way Comes

The sky darkened over the city, storm clouds sprung up, and electricity sparkled through the air. Thunder could be heard, along with lightening being seen in the distance, coming closer quickly.

A white ’69 mustang with green racing stripes could be heard entering the city. People stopped and gazed upon the foreign car before hurrying on home to escape the coming storm.

The beautiful and mysterious mustang pulled to a stop in front of one of the cities hospitals. It rumbled for a few minutes before cutting off. The staff outside on a break couldn’t help but stare at the car in wonder. Rarely such a beautiful car was seen at their hospital. They weren’t one of the more respectable hospitals but they were still good.

Most of the people who came there though were poorer and from the shadier parts of the city. But still there was something mysterious and magical about this car; almost as if it had magical abilities of its own.

The doors to the car opened revealing two finely dressed individuals. They couldn’t help but wonder who these two people were and why there were here at this hospital in such a nice car and in such nice apparel.

The driver of the mustang was a tall man, about 6’2”. He towered over his female companion who was barely 5’4” when she wasn’t wearing heels. His black hair hung longer in his face and his suit was impeccably straight and clean. He held himself in a slightly threatening manner that mixed with his piercing blue eyes created a very intimidating aura to seep from him. His eyes bore into the staff staring at him, causing them to quickly look away.

He smiled to himself before straightening his suit jacket and the black fingerless gloves that covered his hands before holding out his arm to his companion.

She graciously accepted his arm, winding her arm around his. She was dressed in fitted clothes that matched her hair. Her heeled boots clacked against the concrete sidewalk as they headed for the entrance of the hospital. Her hair was pulled up in a sexy, yet haphazard up do. Her eyes were a deep green that just sparkled with mischief.

The well-dressed couple entered the hospital and headed for the nurses’ station. Everyone in the waiting area stared at them in wonder and confusion. It was unusual for someone so finely dressed to be seen out and about in this part of town.

The couple waltzed right on up to the counter. The man waved his hand to get the attention of one of the nurses while the woman looked around amused at where she was.

“How may I help you?”

“We’re looking for a Mr. Daniels.”

“Relation?”

The man smiled almost a sinister smile making the woman with him laugh quietly to herself.

“I’m his brother.”

The nurse eyes him carefully before looking up his room, “Room 320.”

“Thank-you very much.”

The man led the woman away from the counter where she had been staring at the nurse, amused by her for some reason. They rode the elevator up to the third floor and navigated their way to room 320.

The woman glanced around before pushing the door open and entering the room first. A man lay asleep in the hospital bed. He awoke with a start and stared at the couple now standing next to his bed. Recognition crossed his features after a moment or two.

“No…no…”

The woman laughed and sat down on the bed, staring at the man with a twinkle in her eyes. Oh how she loved to cause trouble.

“You…you…no…no…”

The man laughed before reaching out to touch the startled man’s forehead. The man started to struggle but he was weakening quickly.

“Relax my dear friend and let yourself fall asleep. Let the hunter in you die away to nothing.”

The woman giggled and watched her ‘master’ work.

“No…not like this,” the man spoke weakly.

“What better way to die than by me? A fit death for a hunter who has defied my master, my father.”

“Your father is a monster.”

“Now that isn’t very nice!”

The woman started to reach out to touch the man but her ‘master’ spoke harshly at her.

“No Rhea!”

Rhea glared at him before crossing her across her chest and staring at the wall.

“I…this isn’t fair to die this way…”

“You won’t feel a thing…well…maybe you will.”

“No…not like this…not by you.”

The tall man narrowed his eyes at the man lying in the bed, “You have been a traitor and have been hunting my brothers. In return I have hunted you down and you will die. By the hands of me I will seek revenge on those you have killed”

“Pe…pestilence…”

The man fell asleep for a moment before waking up and starting to shake violently. He gasped for breath but nothing was coming out. His skin broke out into a cold sweat and he tried to find the button for a nurse. Rhea quickly grabbed the button and held it out of his reach.

Together the huntsman and his subject watched the hunter die a painful death. After the heart monitor beeped and the nurses came running in did they leave the room quietly. But not before Pestilence twisted the ring on his finger.

He had just sealed their deaths, making Rhea bite her lip to hold back a laugh. She enjoyed the destruction her ‘master’ could cause. That was part of the reason she even joined up with him in the beginning. Nothing satisfied her more than creating mass chaos and Pestilence was all too happy to have someone to work with. He rather enjoyed her company and the power she possessed. As a wraith she was capable of so many things.

He was going to keep her around for a long time, possibly forever.

Rhea wrapped her arm around Pestilence’s arm and let him lead her back down to the waiting room where they stopped for him to concentrate and twist his ring to unleash a number of deadly diseases and a plague or two.

Once the spells were cast and the diseases were infecting them all they left and went back to their car.

Once inside the confines of the car, Rhea finally spoke.

“You were wonderful Plague.”

“I have only just begun.”

“Why this city?”

“I had to deal with that hunter. Now, since we are here, we might as well continue our work.”

“Because I’ve done soooo much to help so far.”

Pestilence or Plague has Rhea preferred to call him rolled his eyes at her and started up his mustang.

“Your time will come. Our next stop will prove to be a fun ‘playground’ for you.”

Rhea smiled widely and leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. She settled down into her seat and fiddling with the bracelet on her wrist.

“I can’t wait.”

WOOOOT NEW STORY!!!!
This is for a supernatural/Avenged Sevenfold writing contest!
I am VERY excited for this story!
Yes it is a sequel in a way to my previous one-shot, Hunter Vs. Hunter, however it's not imperative for you to read that. It's really only a sequel because the same original character is being used along with her hunter friend Brian.

I'm STILL getting used to the NEW change to Mibba. ughhhh. Well I hope you enjoy the story. This is a little intro into Pestilence and his trusty helper, Rhea. What she can do comes into play in an upcoming chapter but I'm happy with how this beginning chapter came out. Feedback is much appreciated! My grammar can suck at times so I accept all help as long as you aren't rude about it.

Hope you enjoyed!

P.S. I'll be working on the character page and adding something else to the layout in the next couple days!
