Counting the Stars

You be the anchor that keeps my feet on the ground

"He got you a bracelet? Aww! I ship you two so hard," Eleanor cooed, smiling at me through the webcam.

She had been gone for a little over two weeks now, and tonight was the first night we were able to Skype. Like usual, I didn't even get a chance to ask her how she was doing and what was going on on her side of the world, we just jumped right into talking about me and my "relationship issues."

"El, you need to get off the internet, run for your life, and hide before you turn into one of them. I've already made that mistake and turned my life over for the worse, we can still spare yours!" I laughed, twirling my bracelet around my wrist.

Eleanor shrugged, "I know, I know. Hey, I've got to go since it's getting pretty late at night here. Remember what I said, talk to you soon, and tell Louis I love him."

We said our goodbyes and ended the Skype Call, the little noise signalling it being over.

"LOUIS! YOUR GIRLFRIEND SAYS SHE LOVES YOU!" I shouted obnoxiously to the 20-year-old who was sitting in the other room.

Louis skipped into the room, a bright smile on his face, "You're talking to Eleanor??"

I shook my head, "I was, but she had to go. Sorry kid."

He jutted out his lip, pouting like a lost puppy, "My girlfriend likes you more than she likes me."

Riding on the bus from state to state was the least exciting part of the tour. Sure, the bus was more luxurious than anything that I've ever been in before, and probably cost more than my house back in California, the 6 to 12 hours drives were completely and utterly boring. I'd have more fun banging my head against the wall 47 times than I would riding in the bus for another second. For the first part of the tour, the rides were fun and exciting. We'd sit around and watch TV or play video games. Now everyone just sat around and did their own thing.

Both Harry and Niall were passed out in their bunks, completely dead to the world. I had already tried waking the both of them up multiple times. Louis finally found the time to call Eleanor, and that was the same with Zayn and Liam. If the guys weren't sleeping, they were talking to their girlfriends.

Tired of being so bored, I took to my twitter to cure the boredom.

@c4llista: Hey guys! I'm on the bus and bored out of my mind. How about half an hour of #askcallista?? Annnddd.... GO!

The first couple tweets were some pretty generic ones. I got, "What's your favorite color?" "What's your favorite animal?" "What's your favorite food?" quite a few times, and answered the first few people to ask me those questions with "Green, most definitely!" "Hedgehogs are by FAR my absolutely favorite animal!" and "My favorite food is anything Italian." Within five minutes my mentions were going crazy, the @Connect bar being more active than it had ever been before.

It was weird to think that so many teenagers were trying to get a response from me. Just a few months ago, I had been one of those crazy teenage girls, spamming certain band members for a reply. It was weird being put in a position such as this one. I replied to a few more tweets before one caught my eye.

@niallersfavm0f0: @c4llista what's the bracelet that you've been wearing on your wrist in the last few pics? it's cute! #askcallista

I snapped a picture of the bracelet and attached it to the picture.

@c4llista: It's a charm bracelet that @NiallOfficial gave to me. Each charm represents something in my life!

I answered questions for the remainder of the half an hour, following a few random people that asked, and avoiding all the questions that asked about my love life. Using Twitter to cure my boredom was probably one of my more smarter decisions lately, I was entertained for the entire time. After answering about 100 people, my fingers hurt from typing and my eyes couldn't stare at the computer screen anymore.

@c4llista: Thanks for playing, guys! I got a trending topic and became a lot closer with a bunch of you. You're the best!<3

I logged out of Twitter and shut my laptop off, setting it to the side. After a few minutes of staring at the wall, the bunk above me began to move and pretty soon Niall's face was peaking in through my curtains.

"'Listaaaaaa! I'm so bored!" He complained loudly, his entire body hanging over the side of my bunk. I patted the little space that was next to me, offering him to come and sit with me.

He accepted my offer and practically flipped into my bunk. He turned to face me and smiled wide, "Hey there."

His smile was like some sort of contagious disease that you couldn't help but catching. When Niall Horan smiled at you, you smiled back whether you wanted to or not, you just couldn't not smile. His laughter was the exact same way, if he laughed, you also found yourself laughing. Those were both just two reasons why I found myself head over heels for the stupid, faux-blonde Irishman.

"So, do you like the bracelet?" Niall asked, pulling me to his chest.

I didn't object to this and snuggled closer to him, nodding my head quickly, "I don't like it, I absolutely love it. I want to thank you again for it."

Niall grinned, hugging my tightly, "I'm glad you love it so much. I was hoping you would."

We spent the remainder of the drive cuddled up together and talking about the most random things. If I were to say I didn't like this moment, I would be like. It was absolutely perfect in every single way. Everyone around us was too preoccupied doing their own thing to bother us, so having time alone was a nice change. As cheesy as it sounds, it felt right spending so much time in his arms. I felt content.

"So, I heard you were being nice to the Directioners today," Niall laughed.

I playfully punched his shoulder, "Shut up! Don't act so surprised. I was bored and I knew their crazy ways would be a good form of entertainment."

"I'm sure that's the reason," He chuckled, hugging me tightly to his chest.

Sucky filler chapters that I post just for the sake of updating. If I'm being honest, I haven't had much motivation to write the past few days. I sit down and take my laptop out, but the words just don't seem to have a meaning. I really don't like this feeling.

I apologize for taking such a long time to post again. I know I said I'd start being more consistent, but you and I both know that that's a lie. I really will try to get better.

I have to go finish up homework, shower, eat and then I'll come back and edit this chapter. Don't kill me if there's a mistake!
