Almost Human

I couldn't concentrate on work at all. What Brian had said last week made me think. I'm ruining Brian's life.. I'm just an extra mouth to feed.. Jimmy and the boys could do so much better without me. The phone rang.

I sat back down at my office chair as I picked up the phone. I looked at the caller ID, it was Jimmy. I sighed and picked up the phone. "Hello?" I said to the phone.

"Hey! So what toppings do you want on your pizza?" he asked. I sighed again. I replied, "I told you Jimmy, this month is extra busy for me. I have to finish an album! It's due next week and I'm barely halfway through!" I had practiced that line for almost a week. Everyday, telling my cousin lies.

He know when I'm lying. But he has to seemy face, over the phone was hard for him to tell if I'm lying.

The phone went dead. Jimmy hung up.

I went back into the recording room and recorded the music for the next song.

~BRIAN'S POV~

Jimmy got of the phone and threw onto the couch. "Busy again?" asked a concerned Val. Jimmy just nodded and looked out the window.

It's been like this for the past week. Jimmy would call her, she'd say she's busy, jimmy would get all mad. "She stayed in the office last night. Without sleeping." he said again.

We all shook our heads and started to eat the pizza we ordered.

She obviously was avoiding me. But why was she avoiding Jimmy? It can't be because of what I said.. Right? I mean just because she didn't want to see me, she avoids everyone? That's not the Jayden I know.. Or knew..

"Brian!" snapped a squeaky voice. I tuned to face a pissed looking Michelle and replied, "Sorry?". She buffed and whined, "Ugghh.. I swear to God sometimes you just space out! jJust like Jay!" I scoffed and looked away.

I admit it. I missed Jay. Jimmy was glaring at me. I shrugged it off and continued eating.

Later,jimmy pulled me aside and questioned me, "What did you do to Jay!?!?". I replied with gritted teeth, "I didn't do anything!" jimmy gave me the 'Spill-now-or-die'.

I sighed and told him the whole story. Right from the beginning till the end. Never missing out any bit.

Jimmy seemed to take it well, until I told him what I said to her last week. "Fuckin hell. We'll talk to her tomorrow. We go to her office." he said.

Then I received a lecture about how and why i shouldn't say that sort of stuff and all... I just felt somehow worried, and that something was going to happen to Jay. I just can't put my finger on it.

~JAYDENS POV~

It was midnight so I decided to go home. It was pitch black out here and the roads were half empty. It had started to rain heavily about half an hour ago.

I got to the intersection and stopped at the red light. Suddenly, I saw bright lights coming. I quintet my eyes at what looked like a giant truck.

'It's going to crash into you if you don't move!!!' screamed my conscience. But my body didn't move. In fact, the darker side of my conscience was whispering the exact same words Brian had said to me..

'Things were so much fucking better before you came along! I wish things were back to the way they were before you came back from fucking England and fucking ruined everything!'

BAAAM!! Everything was bright, and shiny. I saw everyone I know gather around me. "Guys?" I called out. Their faces were sad and red from crying. They were all dressed formally in black, and all held flowers.

Suddenly, some random dude started pouring soil over me. The soil flew right through me. I looked at my hands. They were translucent. I was a ghost?

I scrambled out of my grave and stood in front of Jimmy. "Jimmy!!, Help me!" I screamed.

The whole world shattered like glass and I was gone.
