I peered around the corner looking for Eli. She is my best friend, I can tell her anything. But I need to find out what's going on with her lately. She seems... more contained than usual. And sad too. I don't know what to make of it.
I'm worried she's not eating enough. She's so tiny, when she allows me to hug her it feels as though she'll break in my arms and blow away.
I shift my weight from foot to foot and look around. I don't see her coming. She's probably walking to school today. Again. The bus pulls up and I climb on and sit in my seat.
