Serenity was never meant to last forever. I was suddenly yanked backwards out of his arms. He managed to grab my hand to keep me from disappearing.
"Don't look back," He said, "I promise I'll find you."
The world had turned into a watery haze that faded into darkness. The void tore at my legs trying desperately to pull me inside. I finally couldn't hold on any longer.
Our fingers were rent apart as my world turned black.
In the darkness a thought came to me.
Had he been a dream?
Could he save me?
