Sunday in New York

Breakfast

October 29th

I woke up in a cold sweat, I knew what that meant, along with the overwhelming nauseous feeling and lightheadedness, I knew my blood sugar was low and all that beer last night didn't help. Rolling out of bed, I already felt weak as I stumbled into the bathroom and kneeling in front of the toilet to get sick.

After I finished getting sick and flushing the toilet, I got up and leaned against the counter as I began brushing my teeth. Afterwards, I reached into my bag that had my toiletries and took out my glucose meter, pricking my finger to check my blood sugar level. And just as I guessed, it was very low.

I sighed and quickly brushed my hair to make myself look presentable and took off my shirt and changed it. Now I remembered why I never got drunk, it left me sick and dehydrated. Taking in a deep breath I quietly exited my room and gave a sigh of relief when I realized Christian wasn't around. I went to the fridge and took out a juice and poured half of it into a glass to drink.

I walked over to the table and sat down, sipping at the juice. I felt so hungover as I crossed my arms and rested them and my head on the table, I had a throbbing headache and recovering from hypoglycaemia was the worst. But then as I sat in silence, I heard Christian singing in the distance. I grinned and listened more closely, hearing the shower on and Christian singing Somebody I Used To Know by Gotye.

I couldn't help but laugh. I got up and went back to my room to recheck my levels, seeing if they were back to normal; they were. There was then a knock at the front door so I went back out to answer it, also hearing that his singing had stopped and the shower was turned off.

Opening the door, an employee with a room service cart stood there waiting to be invited in. "Room 21, you ordered breakfast."

I looked at the door to see if that was our room number, it was. "Oh, okay, come in." I murmured, opening the door and letting him come in. He set out two plates with silver lids, and glasses and a crystal pitcher filled with orange juice. He also put out a pot of coffee on the table. "And as requested, a packet of Advil." He set down a packet on the table. I couldn't help but smile, knowing that Christian had ordered all of this down to the packet of Advil.

"Will that be all?" He asked, standing straight and looking professional.

"Oh, uh yes. Thank you." I replied. He still stood there and I realized he was waiting for a tip. "Oh, sorry. Let me go get my wallet."

"No need, I got it." Christian spoke, coming out of his room in nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist. I blushed and tried not to stare. He walked up to the employee and gave him a generous tip.

"Thank you sir." He replied, surprised by the tip. He quickly took the cart and left the room, shutting the door.

"You did this I'm assuming." I smiled.

He ran his fingers through his damp hair and grinned, "I thought it'd be nice for us to have breakfast together. That is if you want breakfast, you must be pretty hungover. That's where the Advil comes in."

I chuckled and walked to the table and sat down, soon being joined by him. "Well this is really sweet, thank you." I smiled.

He softly smiled back. "It's my pleasure."

As I began poking at my food with my fork, I grinned and looked back at him. "Is singing also a pleasure of yours?"

"Hmm?" He had taken a bite of his food and looked at me with a confused look.

I laughed and began singing, "Now you're just somebody that I used to know."

He blushed and started to laugh. "You heard that?"

I smiled and nodded, starting to eat. "You're pretty good at it too."

"I've been singing all my life, I sang in elementary school, in my high school's choir and in my university's glee club." He smirked.

My eyes widened with surprise, "No way, that's awesome."

He shyly smiled and kept on eating. "It's no big deal."

"So then that's why you like watching Glee."

He smirked and didn't bother replying and instead changed the subject. "So how are you this morning? Are you feeling sick at all?"

I sighed and nodded, "Yeah, I uh, regret drinking last night. And my head is pounding."

"Did you want to do the interviews today?" He asked with a look of concern, he leaned in closer.

I lightly laughed, "I have to, Jann sent me here for a reason."

He nodded and smiled, "Well throughout the day, just let me know if you're feeling bad, I'll bring you back here."

"Okay." I chuckled, setting down my fork after hardly eating. "I'm gonna go shower up and then afterwards we can get going?"

"Sure." He replied.

Before leaving I took the Advil and went into my room. My cell began ringing. I checked the caller i.d and saw that it was Hudson.

"Hi." I grinned, answering the phone.

"Hey love, how are you? I miss you so much." He said sweetly in his smooth British accent.

"I'm..." I knew that I had to lie, I didn't want to tell him that I got drunk. "I'm pretty good. I miss you too, so much. But hey! How did the show go?"

"Oh Avery, it was spectacular. It couldn't have gone any better, Guy was such a cool...guy." He laughed. "Jules and I had a great time, the cameras were in the kitchen as we showed him how we prepare our popular dishes. It was just great, beyond great actually."

"Aw, Hudson I'm glad it went good. When will the show air?"

"Probably late next month. I'm so excited for you to see it." I could tell he was grinning.

"I'm excited too! Oh Hudson, I miss you. I miss New York. I miss Amelia."

"I miss you too, love. And Amelia misses you, she came by the restaurant for dinner last night after the filming was finished, you can just tell she misses her best friend." He chuckled. "But how's New Orleans?"

"Oh it's great, I love it. It's a little warm, especially around this time of year, but I don't mind. I interviewed the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mumford & Sons, AWOLNATION, and The Black Keys yesterday."

"Really? That's so cool, I love Mumford & Sons."

"I know, I couldn't help but think about you during the interview."

"That's sweet." He chuckled.

I smiled. "Well I'll be home on Halloween."

"Yeah, about that, did you want to go out or stay in?"

"Oh, I don't know, did you have something planned if we stay in?" I grinned.

"Maybe," He laughed, "I just thought that we needed a night together to catch up on the time we've lost."

"That sounds good, yeah let's stay in. Maybe trick-or-treaters will come by too." I smiled.

"Perfect. Well, text me or call me when your flight is coming in and I'll pick you up from the airport."

"For sure. I have to get going pretty soon here, but I love you and I miss you terribly and I can't wait to see you on Halloween." I grinned.

"I love you too dear, text me later."

"I will, bye."

"Bye."

After hanging up I went into the bathroom and started up the shower.

In the other room, Christian was sitting at the table with a smile on his face. He was thinking about Avery. He rubbed his chin and shook his head with a smile and started to laugh, running his hands through his hair. "Oh man, this is not good."
