I Found You

Rosie felt both happiness and anticipation as she waited for Zacky to pull off. 

Her thumbs twiddled nervously and her lips stayed tucked into her teeth as she stared out of the window. 

Finally the airport came into view, Rosie couldn't help but smile knowing that her little girl was inside. 

Now that she knew she was coming, she remember all the loneliness and incompletion she felt while she was on the run. When she left she contemplated taking her daughter with her but she knew that she was safe where she was. 

But now it was time for her to come home to her mom. Kendall's home would always be in her mother's loving arms. 

Zacky held her hand tightly as they made their way through the crowded airport, looking for that familiar tuft of brown hair. 

“Maaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!” the loud voice echoed throughout the airport, attracting the attention of everyone including Zacky and Rosie. 

The second she heard her voice, she saw her face. The tuft of hair had grown into a full head of hair, surrounding those beautiful grey eyes. Her little tiny arms stretched in her direction desperately. It was clear that Kendall wanted her mommy. It was also clear that mommy wanted her Kendall. 

Rosie ran over to Kendall and her escort, crying when she was finally in her arms. 

“Ma, I miss you.” she said giggling with excitement

“I've missed you too baby!!”

“I wan stay wif you!” she cooed 

“You can baby!! You can!” 

Kendall screamed with excitement and hugged her mom tightly. She was young and couldn't understand why she couldn't see her mommy everyday like people on tv but, she was just glad to see her again. 

Zacky stood and watched in content as he watched the woman he loved hold her bundle of joy tightly. In his mind he hoped that he could one day be apart of that...he hoped that he and Rosie would have their own family.

Kendall had dozed off on the way back to their house, held tightly in the arms of her slumbering mother. Zacky smiled at them through the rear view mirror. 

They were in front of the house when Zacky snapped a photo of them on his iPhone before waking Rosie. 

She smiled down at Kendall, scooping her into her arms as Zacky helped her out of the car. 

Everyone waited in the living room for them to arrive. 

When Rosie first told everyone about her daughter, they were shocked but only for a brief second. Then they were excited to meet her once they saw the picture. 

Rosie assured them that she would take full responsibility for her and keep her out of everyone's way. She was unaware of the fact that Matt and Jimmy had purchased a high chair, playpen, plastic covers for plugs, locks for cabinets and plenty of toys for her to play with. Jimmy's Disney movie collection seemed pretty plentiful so they were set on movies. 

Valary went out and brought applesauce, different juices and foods easy on the gums. 

None of them could understand why they were so excited about Kendall's arrival but it didn't matter. They all just wanted to be prepared. 

Brian was the first to hear the lock click, he paused the game and jumped up to the door. They all followed after him seeing Zacky with bags in his hands. 

Rosie stepped in carefully, with the tiny bundle in her arms. 

Her eyes fluttered opened and surveyed the room. She held on tighter to her mother and her bunny. 

“Guys...this is Kendall.” said Rosie softly 

She walked over to Brian. “Kendall this is Brian.” 

Brian gave a half smile and stuck his hand out. She looked at it for a long time before carefully putting her hand in his. He smiled and shook it slowly. 

She moved onto Johnny. “This is Johnny.” 

She giggled and said with her pacifier still in her mouth. “Your hayur shyneey.”

He smiled and rubbed his hair. “Thank you miss lady.” 

She moved onto Valary. “This is Valary.” 

“Hi sweetie...you can call me auntie Val.” 

“Hi.” 

She moved onto Matt. “This is Matt.” 

Matt smiled and Kendall said excitedly. “Mommee hiz cheeekz yook like myne!!!”

She was referring to his deep dimples that showed when he smiled. They resembled Kendall's so much, it was shocking to the rest of the group. 

He chuckled and patted her head softly as Rosie moved on to Jimmy. Kendall's eyes grew wide as she looked the tall man up and down.

“Mo'ster.” she whispered

“He's not a monster sweetie.” chuckled Rosie. “He's just tall.” 

Jimmy began to fake cry. “She thinks I'm a monster.” 

Kendall reached her small hand out and tapped his head. “'S okay. I'm sowwy. I don theenk you mo'ster.” 

He sniffled and wiped his eyes. “Really?”

“Yes.” she stuck out her tiny arms. “Give hug.” 

He swooped her into his arms, of course after receiving a nod of approval from mommy, and hugged her tightly. 

“Well Kendall since you were so nice to me I have a little surprise for you.” 

She giggled as he flew her upstairs to Rosie's room, where a haven of toys awaited. 

Jendall's eyes lit up like Christmas lights when she saw what was behind the door. 

“For me?” 

Jimmy nodded his head. 

Kendall wrapped him in a tight hug. “Tank you! Thank you!”

He set her down and let her run through the room touching every toy in sight. Valary appeared in the doorway with the rest of the guys behind her. 

“Auntie Val! Yook! I go' toyz!” 

She laughed and sat on the floor to play with her. 

Everyone took turns playing Kendall all day, Jimmy being the one that played with her the most. Jimmy loved kids naturally but he seemed to love Kendall the most. She loved him just as much...she had never played so much in her life. She loved it so much. 

Rosie thanked them all and even tried to pay them back but they refused to take a dime, claiming that she was part of the family now. 

It warmed Rosie's heart too see everyone, especially Zacky, bonding with Kendall as if they had known her all their lives.  

After dinner that night Jimmy thought it would be a great idea to gather in the living room to watch a movie.

They agreed but regretted it the second Jimmy came back with the Nightmare Before Christmas in his hand. 

“Damn man. You watch that all the time! Take a fucking break!” groaned Brian 

“Language Brian.” said Rosie sternly

“Oooooo...Bryyan said a baaaaaaad wuuuuuurd...” 

Valary, being as awesome as she was, kindly leaned over and smacked him on the back of the head. 

He grunted but apologized, “Sorry chipmunk.” 

Chipmunk is Kendall's new nickname, courtesy of Jimmy. He spent all day with her hearing her sing Alvin and the Chipmunk songs sounding so much like them. He couldn't help but call her chipmunk and pretty soon it spread throughout the house like gossip. 

“Wa'ch yur mouff Bryyan.” she shook her tiny finger at him. 

Everyone laughed heartily as Jimmy pressed play. Rosie was afraid that Kendall would be too scared of The Nightmare Before Christmas but she didn't even flinch. Rosie and Jimmy sang all of the songs to Kendall, making her giggle and try to sing along. 

When the movie ended, Rosie changed her clothes. Zacky begged her to let him read to her and tuck her in. Rosie agreed, seeing it as more bonding time for them. 

Rosie left Zacky with Kendal, taking her lyrics book down stairs to write. 

Meanwhile Valary had seen the way Rosie and Kendall interacted and the way the guys interacted with Kendall. So when she and Matt were getting ready for bed, she brought the subject up yet again. 

“I'm so glad Kendall's here.” she said from their bathroom

Matt sensed the bait but took it anyway. “Yeah, she's really adorable.” he replied from their closet

“So...it's okay for Rosie's daughter to be here, but not okay for us to have our own.” 

“Valary please--” he sat down on their bed 

“Please what Matt? Please don't bring this up again? Matt we've been together for as long as I can remember! We have a steady income, a house, everything we need...why can't we start a family?”

He signed and ran his hands down his face. “Because I'm not ready.” 

She groaned and walked over to him, slamming their bathroom door behind her. 

“That wasn't necessary.” he said 

Ignoring the comment she said, “Not ready? You've been saying that for two years! When the fuck are you going to be ready?!” 

“When I'm fucking ready Valary! Damn, you rushing and pressuring me isn't going to make shit happen any faster!” 

“God you always do this! You always make up some shitty excuse! It's not the right time, we aren't in the right place financially...I want a baby Matt.”

“Johnny's short, Jimmy's childish, Brian's irresponsible...you have three kids right there!” 

Valary threw a pillow at him and stormed out. 

She went downstairs to the living room where Rosie was writing quietly. 

Grabbing a bag of assorted gummy worms with lightening speed, she sat on the couch murmuring about Matt. 

She didn't even noticed how badly she startled Rosie. Rosie dropped her book on the floor and upon seeing her scowl she couldn't help but ask what was wrong. 

“It's nothing.” she shrugged

“Doest look like nothing.” Rosie said as she closed her book. “Now spill.” 

“Matt doesn't wanna have a baby! For two years I've been begging to try to have a baby but he just makes up some excuse and says he's not ready. I love him more than anything but I'm getting sick of his excuses!” 

“He sounds scared to me.” Rosie replied

“Scared?” 

“Yeah, I mean most men are scared but Matt seems like the kinda guy to hide that. I mean to spend two years coming up with excuses...sounds a lot like fear. And no offense but you yelling and pressuring him doesn't help.” 

“So what do I do?” 

“Let him know that he's not the only one who's scared. Tell him that you will be by his side through it all because you guys are a team.” Rosie said. “It may take him a while but he'll come through.” 

Valary sat there, feeling like shit for not seeing how Matt was really feeling. 

“Oh god I have to apologize.” 

Before Rosie could say anything else, Valary jumped up and rushed to her room.
